There’s something to be said here. Between the blond hair man in the bright light of the doorstep and the shorter black hair teen in the dimply lit room. Indeed, one of them needs to speak up sooner or later, before they get suffocated by this silent.
7ft. The distance between the door and the table is around 7ft.
It would only take a couple of steps to go from here to there. Yet there’s no movement.
Green eyes seem to show complicated emotions and the face of the younger man seems mortified, they both seems confused as they do nothing but stare at each other. Who knows how much time has pass, if one move this pressure will break like glass, it’s scary to think about what they have to do when the silence end. But both know they have a lot to discuss and they need to get it done somehow. The problem is who to speak first.
After what seems like forever, the blond one give in first. All sort of different emotions fly through his eyes before his face soften, he looks tired. If he doesn’t speak up this would go on forever and he can’t risk making this child in front of him having more misunderstanding thoughts.
“…let’s get you some clothes before we talk.”
***
Pleasant cold weather of a nice morning roam around the quiet kitchen, sounds and smells of cooking mix into the rising sunlight beyond the curtains, one might say that this looks peaceful. Well it is nice, this kitchen is nice, the glass of tea is nice, the clothes that oddly fit is nice, but the mind is not in the mood to enjoy nice thing. There’s no familiar salty smells in the air or the lousy noises of a middle class neighborhood ready for the day. There’s just the cold hard wooden floor of this big house and a dining table filled with silent. Even the hot teacup with steam brush pass someone’s hand feels distant.
7:15 Am, the clock on the wall reads. To the left of the dining table, just behind the counter, the owner of this house busy cooking breakfast.
Blond hair shoulder length, green eyes, handsome face with both Asian and European features. This tall dreamboat said his name is Alex while giving a naked kid clean t-shirt and jean to wear, had remain silent until now. The child is curios, where he should be wary, instead he is curious, about this house and its’ owner. In this weird situation, that child first thought about this Alex is that his house must be expensive. Well wouldn’t it be better to think about trivial stuffs than get your head blown up trying to comprehend what’s going on right now? There is a lot yet there is nothing to talk about. The only thing to be sure is that Alex yet to kill off this airhead and is now even make him breakfast.
The warm cup of tea smells incredibly good, it have a sweet taste to it, he didn’t add any sugar yet right? There’s not any bitter note, it’s relaxing and reassuring. Hm, gentle, he guess Alex is trusty, honestly who would trust a guy over the taste of his tea like this one. One would want to laugh at this stupidly hilarious situation. Right, his mind has calm down, at least to the point where he could think. How did it come to this? Him, sitting in a stranger house, waiting for the other to cook him breakfast, after waking up butt-naked in what seems to be a magical setting. He wants to ask some sort of God what type of situation is this? It’s ironic for someone who daydreamt about this type of things, somehow get to actually experience it. He simply doesn’t know how to act.
With a clang, breakfast quickly set out in front of him. On the clean table, there’s a clean white plate with eggs and all sort of sausages, the basket of breads was set next a bit away from that. The smells quickly attack his stomach so he decided to just straight up stop thinking and just start to eat.
For a while, there’s only the sound of fork and knife.
It’s astonishing, Alex found it’s surprising that this child can just so casually eat breakfast like this. He even sorts out what he like and dislike on the plate. How can someone calm down so quick and just decide to obediently sit there? It’s almost suspicious, but even so, Alex is in no rush. Black fluffy short hair; dark brown eyes, so dark that they’re almost black and a face that barely seems to get pass adulthood. Alex is honestly in deep thoughts about what he should said to this one, luckily it’s Sunday, there’s no work today so he could just take it easy.
The teacup is almost empty, he reach out to refills it while the other still stuffing his face.
“You must have a lot of questions.”
The cup is handed back and the child stares back at him with clear eyes, his reflection reflect in those.
“Did you read all of the documents on that table?”
A hesitant nod, finally swallow last bit of bread, the gaze turned odd.
“Well, what do you think about those? To be specific, what would you do if those monsters are a reality you have to live with?”
Alex could see the gear turning in the head of the younger male. This child who wears his emotions on his face seems to be in deep thought and finally stare back at him with innocent eyes and a serious expression.
“No you didn’t get transported, you’re still somewhat in this world. This is not a dream either.”
Denial is a normal reaction for this type of scene and this one should react along that line too. But different to what Alex had in mind, this child gaze seems to immediately relax and scream out ‘I can’t understand so I will leave it for later’. Alex is absolutely correct about that, this child in front of him currently feeling a little hard to breathe with thoughts about new possibilities so he just give up and decided to focus on food, leave things for his own brain to process in the background, there’s nothing he could do about it anyway and it’s not like he’s in danger so. To him, who push everything back to the last moment, focus on the food he’s having and let his mind process everything in the background is more appealing.
“…What’s your name?”
Ah, he didn’t give out his name yet, well he didn’t say anything yet since he woke up here, he wonder what type of voice he have right now.
“Haya.”
It took a bit of time for his throat to work, the voice came out is surprisingly warm and small. What a nice body to have. Maybe this body already have an owner and he, Haya, just snatched it up like this. Wouldn’t it be bad? Mmm, let’s focus on this Alex guy first. With what’s this guy been saying normally people would just say that he’s crazy or delusional, but the weird yet functional devices in the basement make everything believable. Well, there’s also the weird eyeball goldfish peeking out behind the curtain on the windows that Haya tried to ignore. But the fact that he woke up like this.... He starts to think if he should just run and go get the police or not, this grown man with a naked body in his basement is still very suspicious. Can he outrun this guy?
Almost as if Alex could read his mind, he opens his mouth in urgency as his eyebrow twitch.
“No, I’m not crazy and you’re currently in a forest in the mountain, you’d get lost if you run so please don’t. At least listen to my explanations first before you have any weirder thoughts.”
Alex want to sigh, this child named Haya just knit his eyebrows and then pretend like he will listen nicely. The smile Haya puts on is an innocent but extremely fake one. It’s obvious that he is thinking of escaping or knocks his ‘threat’ out but at least he is still here and not just blindly running into the wood. Alex honestly doesn’t know if he should laugh about this or not. Haya to Alex is weird, too trusting? Not trusting enough? Whatever it is, Alex could clearly see that Haya change his mind quicker than the speed of bullet. It’s rather difficult to deal with.
What to tell to this child, this situation is already put him at a big disadvantage.
In the end, Haya ended up staring at Alex for 5 minutes before getting any respond. Alex seems to have made up his mind and open his mouth, thinking that luckily today is his day off. But as soon as he thinks that, his front door is kicked open and a loud voice reach toward the kitchen.
Alex cursed at his unfortunate fate with his new ‘housemate’.
