The paper flower of the title is a lotus flower origami.
The lotus flower has interesting meaning in several cultures, because it always looks so clean and pure against the background of the dirty pond.
Because of this the lotus flower has come to be associated with purity, spiritual awakening and faithfulness in Buddhism and beauty and eternity in Hinduism; in the ancient Egypt the lotus came to symbolize the Sun and the circle of death and rebirth.
