Jake walked into the house where his sister Beth ,best friends Amy and Maya, Maya's fiance, Evan and cousin Carli had been staying. They were staying in a 3 story house with 12 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and 2 large living spaces. All the rooms had a walkin closet and the kitchen was huge. Though a little drafty it had become home. Ever since the apocalypse started it had been hard to find food and drinkable water. But with 6 of them it was a bit easier. He'd gone scavenging and found some canned food as well as some bottle water. They had a purifier but prepurified water came in handy. When he walked in, Evan was cradling his hand and he had a feeling that he'd cut himself. 

      What'd you do this time Evan?” he asked. 

     “Oh I didn't see you there Jake. Evan started.  “Cut my hand butchering a deer, but thats not very important, we did however get a new house mate and a dog.”

      “Hows did we end up with a new house mate” Jake asked. 

  “A young man 'bout your age wandered up to me while I was hunting. He was real exected to see another friendly face. Brought him home we all took a vote. Well everyone but you that is. We voted majority that he stay."

    “Cool” was all Jake replied. As Jake started to walk away even call out to him

"oh and Jake" Evan called, "Aaron will be staying in your room for a while."

“Whose Aaron?” Jake asked, looking back. 

“The new kid DUH!” Evan said.

“Why can't he sleep with you or by himself?” Jake asked quickly. 

“ He's TRAUMATIZED Jake He can't sleep with me and Maya because there's not enough space, you on the other hand sleep alone. He's 17 and your 19 so there isn't much of an age difference with you two, and he cant sleep alone he's to scared all of this, yes its new to all of us but to him it's like some crazy nightmare.” 

“FINE he can stay in my room but what about the dog?” Jake asked cautiously 

"I found dog bed I found in the attic, so she'll sleep on the floor.”

 “Ok i'll show him to my room after dinner” Jake sighed. He paused for a moment listening for a reply. “OK” he asked a bit louder. 

"Huh good Thanks Jake”.Enan said with a far out look. And with that Jace went into the kitchen where Maya and Aaron were cooking.

   “Oh hey Jake!” Maya said as he walked in the kitchen. 

    “H-h-h-hi” starmerd a small voice beside her. Jake kneeled down and sat on the floor looking up in front of him. He was a young man as Evan had said he was. He looked scared and worried but happy enough. “W-why are you on the floor?” Aaron asked looking down at Jake. 

   Jake shrugged “I don't know you tell me.” 

   "B-b-but I don't kn-know.” Aaron stammered back 

   "Jake stop messing with the newbie" Carli said as she walked in the kitchen.

     “But Carr” Jake whined. 

  “NO Jake you need to stop” 

“FINE” he said “Your no fun carli” 

  Aaron Waved his hand to the girl in front of him “H-hi” he stammered agen greeting the young women that had just defended him him from Jakes tormenting. 

  “Hi little guy” she started looking down on him “What's your name?”

      “A-a-aaron” the young man replied. 

 “Well hi Aaron i'm Carli but you can call me Car nice to meet you” she said smiling at him brightly 

    “Well it's nice to meet you,'' said Aaron.

"Good to meet you too. Sorry about Jake hes like that at first but you'll get used to it."

"Its Okay" Aaron quickly stated "Im used to getting teased like that."

  "Whatever you say little guy." Carli said as as she turned to walk away. "See you aroung little guy."
