I mean Tom kinda just spirals in this chapter so I think it should be marked mature because he keeps getting thoughts of what happened to him before... Also Tom is naked the whole time. This is your warning I guess. (I'm terrible at these)
I wanted the cut off to be at a certain point so the second part of the chapter is SUPER short since it's just a few hundred characters long, I somehow managed to go over Tapas' limit.
The second time I woke up I was alone, in a big empty room. #1 was nowhere to be seen. I decided that this was my chance. I got up, winching at the pain and holding the blanket around me, and headed toward the door. Locked. I looked around the room for anything to pick the lock with and found nothing. I frowned. There had to be something. I searched, and searched, and searched, and guess what I did next? Searched some more! I sighed but continued to search. After hours (according to the clock on the wall) I had found some candy (why would a guy like #1 needed candy), toilet paper under the pile of animal pelts that served as the bed (is this guy okay?), and some... dog fur (?) I looked around, trying to figure out how to pick a lock with toilet paper when I heard a key being inserted into the lock. I scrambled back onto the bed since it was the farthest from the door. The door seemed to open impossibly slow, I finally saw #1 on the other side, talking with #3.
"Why don't you want to share?" #3 questioned.
"Because I don't, and you will respect that," #1 said before closing the door in #3's face. I looked up at him and curled the pelt around me, letting out a whimper. I had managed to ignore the truth until now, but once I saw his face there was no escape. I Pressed my back into the wall, feeling the rough stone, and as the thought came, my breath started to quicken. Useless tears welled up in my eyes. Useless, just like me. My shoulders shook as I tried to take a few deep breaths, but ended up looking like a fish out of water. The whole time #1 just sat at the edge of the bed. I took a few more breaths. I counted down in my head. I did my best to suppress the thoughts of what had happened.

This time when I got to 1 I had managed to block out most of the thoughts. Good enough. I was openly sobbing though and my breaths had just gotten shorter and quicker. I couldn't look up. As long as I didn't look up I could pretend he wasn't there.

My breathing slowly grew steadier and my sobs subsided. Out of the corner of my eye I glimpsed the clock. It had been 45 minutes since he walked in. 45 whole minutes of him just staring at me while I was stuck in my mind.
"Feeling better," he whispered. His tone was kind but it still brought tears back into my eyes and made me think about what he had said in that exact same tone. No. I needed to focus. I tried to nod but let out a whimper instead. I couldn't look at him. I pressed impossibly closer to the wall and just sat there. I did nothing. I just stared at the pelt in my hand and tried to keep my breathing calm as he slowly started to slink closer to me. I didn't know if I could take this. It seemed like too much. Much too much. He placed his hand on my back and felt like a searing hot iron. He pulled me into his lap and I struggled faintly. Wiggling and whimpering.
"P-please, don't t-touch me," I whispered. He sighed and pulled me closer to his chest, one hand stroking through my hair, the other softly holding my hands together to stop me from struggling.
"Relax," was all he said. I shivered. The fear and pain (emotional and physical) that had previously subsided was back. The tears fell from my eyes again.
Him in me.
Him holding me still.
Him kissing my tears.
Him licking my neck.
Him pressing himself closer to me.
Him holding me down.
Him whispering.
My thoughts were too jumbled after that. I wasn't sure what I was thinking but it made me feel terrible. Like I was useless, dirty, used, broken, and tired. So tired. Tired of this place. Tired of the twisted humans that we called the government. Tired of all the people hurting me. Tired. Just tired. I wanted to sleep. To never wake up again. To give in to the darkness. The pain. Was that too much to ask? To die? To never have to feel like this again?
I slumped against #1 and let the darkness overwhelm me. It made me feel so free to just stop. Stop caring. Stop feeling. Stop paying attention. Stop everything.
"Just sleep, sweetheart, I'll make sure nothing ever happens to you," was the last thing I heard before I completely gave in.
---
I woke up in #1's arms again, but I didn't feel fear, disgust or, well, anything for that matter. I just lay there and stared into the distance. The tick, tick, ticking of the clock was the only thing I heard for a long time. Eventually #1 woke up and softly kissed my neck.
"Sweetheart?"
I didn't answer.
"Sweetheart?" he asked again.
My silence continued.
"Are you hungry?" he tried.
Nothing escaped from my mouth. He nuzzled my neck.
"Sweetheart I need you to talk to me."
Still I stayed silent.
"How about we start with your name?"
Nothing.
"Fine, how about mine then, I'm Derrick of the Southwest Pack. I don't care what you call me when we're alone, but you need to call me alpha when there is someone else nearby or if I tell you to, okay...?" he left the question unfinished, maybe hoping for me to fill in my name.
"I understand," was all I gave him.
"If you don't tell me your name sweetheart I'll have to give you one and I'm pretty sure you don't want that, now do you?" he breathed in my ear.
I didn't give him the satisfaction of an answer.
"Hm... I'm going to call you Griffin then," he decided.
Still, I stayed silent. For a moment he did as well.
"Sweetheart, what's your favorite color?" he whispered in my ear. I thought he was going to call me Griffin, not sweetheart.
Like always, he didn't get an answer. He just huffed and went silent for a moment longer.
"Onyx it is then," he mumbled. In a louder voice he continued, "Sweetheart, I'm going to go get you some breakfast, is there anything you'd prefer?"
I could practically hear the crickets chirping. He turned my head and softly, deceptively so, kissed me. I didn't stop him, but then again I didn't help him. Then he got up and left. I pulled the pelts a little tighter around me. The key sounded in the lock and he was gone. I lay there the whole time, which wasn't long since minutes later Derrick was back with food. I didn't move an inch as he walked in, locking the door behind him. He sat down at the edge of the bed and pulled me into a sitting position next to him, again I didn't stop him or help him, I did stay in a sitting position after he put me in it though. Slowly, he fed me the food, I'm not sure what it was, I wasn't paying enough attention to that.
When he was done feeding me he just placed the plate on the ground. He pulled me back to the center of the bed and put something around my neck.
"To show others who you belong to," he said as he leaned down to kiss me. I didn't react. "Later today I will show you where my room is, I want you to return there no matter what. You may go out of the room as long as you don't try to escape or harm anyone or anything. You can talk to whoever you want, but must call them by their titles, unless there is a submissive wolf, then you may call them by their name since it can get confusing. The first time you meet someone they'll tell you their title so you don't have to worry about that. You must answer someone if they talk to you and do what they say unless it goes against something I've told you, understand?"
I nodded.
"I let everyone know to go easy on you in the beginning. I don't want you getting hurt."
I said nothing so we just ended up cuddling for the next few hours. My mind was blank and I was unresponsive the whole time.
---
Eventually Derrick brought me to his room, a large room with rough rock walls, but furnished pretty well. There was another fur bed, but there was also a closet and a table. There was even a corner that was covered in pillows and another with a few books. Books, I hadn't seen a single one my whole time here but in his room. He has to leave to do "work" or at least that's what he called it. I stared at the door for a solid 2 hours before taking a deep breath and slowly opening the door just a crack. There was no one there. I thought about putting on clothes but then remembered I had none. Maybe I should just stay in his room?
Then I saw another human (by now I've figured out that they're definitely not human) walking down the hall with a tray of food, heading toward the end of the very long hall that I was looking onto. I saw the faint glow of firelight at the end of the hall. But that's unimportant, what was important though was that the person has no clothes. Not even something improvised. Nothing. It made me slightly bolder and I crept a few inches out of the room, by now the person was nearing the end of the hall, they were quite fast. I just stood there, barley outside of the door for a couple minutes. The person was now returning, with an empty tray. I stared at them for a moment before they looked up and saw me. The blinked a few times then frowned. They continued walking down the hall until they got to me. Once they were close enough I saw that they were female and my cheeks flamed as I refused to look at them.
"Are you new?" she asked softly, barley above a whisper, but I heard it as clear as day.
"New?" I echoed. "I-I suppose so."
"Do you belong to someone already?" she questioned whether I frowned, belonged to someone? What did that mean? I voiced these questions to her, still refusing to look in her direction.
"It means that one of them likes you enough to take you in to um... use you in any way they want to," she seemed to be trying to frase it in the kindest way possible. "Here, I can already see that your color isn't the regular brown leather one the rest of us have so I assume someone's at least interested in you. Tip up your head." I complied. I heard a faint jingle as she looked at something on my collar, "Griffin, Property of Alpha Derrick," she read. "Alpha Derrick?" she squealed. "The alpha chose you? Wow. You're so lucky! Do you know what that means?" she looked at me, excited. I looked her in the eyes, and only there.
"U-um, no?" I hesitantly answered. She gasped.
"It means that you're the first human for him to ever claim. Plus the higher your owner's rank is the better chance you have of being treated well. Wait, don't tell me he found you and then immediately claimed you?"
"Y-yes?" her aura was a little overpowering.
"So lucky... Oh! But did he allow you to be here?"
"Kinda? He told me I could get wherever I want as long as I don't try to escape and do something about hurting others."
"So it is true!" she gasped. "He really is as kind as the rumors say!" I winced internally at the last part. Kind? I mean he had been kind to me but... at what price? "Oh! How does he treat you? Is he like Beta Sage? Or like Beta Stephine? Do you even know who those people are? I suppose you wouldn't hm... do you want me to show you around? I'm sure Alpha Derrick will ask you to get something for him eventually and you'll need to know where to find it!" I just nodded.
She led me down the hall, to the left, down another hall, right, and past that I couldn't remember. Eventually we got to a big room, the floor was covered in a thin layer of fur, to keep the chilly rock away from bare skin. Everyone here was naked. My already flaming cheeks just got brighter. Suddenly I was happy that this room was so dark it was hard to see. Very hard. The girl yelled at someone to do something, bring "them" food I think. She then turned back to me.
"I forgot to introduce myself again, didn't I?" she gave me no time to answer before continuing. "I'm Thalia, nice to meet you! And here we have the human's quarters, where all the unclaimed humans stay when they're not working. All new humans first are shown to the higher ranking pack before coming here if no one claims them. It's an honor to be claimed before you prove yourself by working, it means you are special, and most likely won't have to do much physical labor throughout your life. Since you were claimed even before that, by the alpha, no less, you are, like, super lucky, and the rest of us would probably not dare to say anything bad about you in case you told Alpha Derrick and he kills us. He would probably do that, actually. But I'm rambling again, come on, let's continue to the kitchens!"
She led me down another set of winding corridors and to a set of very large wooden doors, then she pushed them open.
"Thalia, finally, we need someone to bring that tray over there to Kayla, can you do that?" a long haired boy asked. He, unlike the other people I had seen, had an apron. Looking around I saw that everyone here had one. Interesting.
Thalia looked at me for a moment before speaking, "Mind tagging along while I do this, I can show you more afterwards?" I nodded and followed her as she led me though a thousand more hallways (how big was this cave? It can't have been THIS huge, right?) and finally to a hall multiple doors all evenly spaced out, all looking exactly the same, except for numbers on the door. We stopped at number 35 and Thalia knocked, before whispering to me to stay out here. She then slowly opened the door and slipped inside. She closed the door and I didn't see what happened but a few moments later she came out without the tray and any bruises so I guess it went well.
"Here we have the Submissive Wolves' quarters. There are 256 wolves currently staying here, each of them has their own room. The lower the number on your door the more respect you have. The wolves that stay in rooms 20 and up are allowed to claim a human, 10 and up can have 3 humans and 5 and up can have as many as they want. You probably won't need to come here since Alpha Derrick claimed you but just in case, you know."
Then she led me back to the hall where we met.
"This is the alpha's corridor. This room is his study, this one's a library, this one's his bedroom, the last 10 are guest bedrooms, in case an alpha from another pack comes and wants to bring some wolves with them. The rest of the rooms are empty. There is another corridor like this for the female alpha but there currently isn't one because... well... I don't actually know," she laughed.
