Even though he wished that Mia would contact him, Nick still felt powerless when the girls left the coffee shop without him getting her phone number.
He knew that it would be weird to ask for the number since the girls weren't really friendly with him as it was clear that if he had asked her, he would have lost his only chance to get to know Mia.
Tea would have probably just said she had a boyfriend, and if he had asked Mia for her contact information, she would have put up her defenses. He was sure the answer would have been no.
That was the only reason he let them go, even though he really didn't want to think about the possibility of never seeing Mia again. Thus, he had to risk it.
He was feeling all those new emotions that were unfamiliar but very exciting. It was both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time, and he loved it.
Nick finally found something that made him feel alive and excited. The last time he felt that way was so long ago that he could barely remember it. He was a high school student back then.
Happiness and dread were equally mixed but, he had something to look forward to. His days weren't as empty as they used to be since he lived them in anticipation of the call.
When the call finally came, it wasn't the one he was hoping for. It was Mia's other friend, Stacey, calling and offering to tutor him in French.
Nick wasn't thrilled with the turn of events, having hoped that Mia would offer to teach him but, he agreed in the crazy hope that it would get him closer to Mia.
Unfortunately for him, Stacey was not interested in chit-chat about her friends, so they ended up doing French lessons only. He tried to subtly ask about Mia a few times, but she always diverted him back to studying.
Although Nick's French was perfect, he kept making mistakes to keep Stacey as his teacher, hoping that he would learn more about Mia sooner or later. He wasn't so lucky, but he did get a crazy idea.
Since they had lessons on Skype, he knew her full name and surname, so he looked her up on Facebook. It required a lot of work, but he finally found the right person, and he knew that because in her friend list were girls called Mia and Tea. He couldn't believe his luck.
Well, if it could be called luck since he did spend hours searching for her just to be able to find Mia in her friend list. He wasn't sure what to do next and not to sound like a stalker. Especially having in mind that he already felt like a weirdo.
An accidental meeting might be a lot more than then Mia and Nick bargained for. It's not what either one of them expected but only one of them is ready to accept the feelings that start developing. Will they be able to accept the fate and enjoy it?
For some reason, Nick keeps having vivid dreams that feel more like memories about a guy named Mark. Is there some connection between the dreams and the present? Why does he seem to have powerful feelings for both the man of his dream and the woman of is waking hour? What does it all mean for him?
