Elias plopped down behind his desk into a luxuriant black office chair. He let out an exasperated sigh as he heard a gentle knock at his doors. "Come in." He called out to the person on the other side.
The door opened softly and a small, well dressed man stepped inside. His strawberry blonde hair glistened as he walked in. He had sliver blue eyes that reflected the bright sunlight that shun through the large floor to ceiling window behind Elias' desk. He reached the front of his boss's desk with an alluring smile spread across his face. He passed a paper across the desk.
"Sir, the proposal from the advertisement department is complete. They told me to pass it over to you." The mans voice was somewhat high pitched and fanciful.
Elias took the papers with his leather gloved hands and added them to the ever-growing pile on his, already cluttered, desk. "Thank you, Dawn. Can you tell me if I have anything important planned for today?" He looked at his assistant through the ebony bangs that hung slightly over his deep brown eyes.
"Oh, sure. One moment" Dawn took out a tablet that seemed to appear out of thin air and started to read Elias his schedule in a sprightly tone. Before he could finish the office phone that perched atop the desk started to ring. Dawn abruptly stopped when he heard the violent chime of the telephone.
"Send the full schedule to me later, you may go for now." He watched as Dawn walked out the door before picking up the phone. He had a feeling he knew who was on the other end.
"Father. How may I help you?" He stated in a professional but emotionless tone.
"I have a job for you Elias." A deep, husky voice prompted from the other end. Elias' face went cold. He knew exactly what he wanted him to do and he knew that even if he pleaded he wouldn't be able to get out of it.
"I'm not your personal hire-to-kill, you have two other sons! Get one of them to do your dirty work!" Elias' voice became highly agitated as he clenched his unused gloved hand.
"...Come to the house for dinner. I will tell you more when you come."
Before Elias could even utter a word of rebuttal the line went dead. He slammed the receiver down and let out a loud aggravated grunt. He placed his elbows on desk and rested his forehead on his palms. He closed his eyes before sitting up and picking up the phone receiver again. "Dawn, I'm going home early. Cancel my meetings and reschedule them for next week."
"Alright sir, have a good day!"
Dawn hung up the phone and Elias got up from his seat. Throwing his long black coat over his broad shoulders, he fixed the collar of his black turtleneck and the one chain that hung over it. Pulling on his glove, he checked his silver watch and grabbed his bag. He was in his private elevator, headed towards his car, when the cellphone in his pocket started to ring.
