However, it was the 'date' part that got him excited. Trying his best to keep himself refrained from acting out too much, this was the first time Spencer has asked him out for a date date. His baby blues glanced over at him as he held his hand; in public.
The two of them always went to the local fair that came around every year, in the middle of summer to the boardwalk. This time, going as something more. Remy was proud of Spencer and the steps he was taking towards being his true self. They were at their official four-month mark, and he honestly couldn't be any happier about it.
Remy's face was plastered with a smile the entire time they've been here. Spencer noticed it too happy he could finally make Remy happy doing something right for once. He was just as nervous as ever, but he had to push himself. Remy wasn't going to waste his whole life with him on the sofa in the comfort of their apartments. He had to keep pushing himself, take bigger steps.
Tonight was his first major one, asking Remy out on a true date. Holding his hand felt good. He has never been ashamed of Remy by any means. He was ashamed of himself. Parts of Spencer felt guilty for leaving him hanging as he had, just stringing him along over the years. He wasn't perfect by any means, but he didn't have to be such an asshole about it towards him.
Hell, he was still an asshole to him. Spencer yet to drop his trait of using Remy's love for him against him. Having that love be the main factor that allowed him to get his way most of the time. Guilting or even forcing Remy to do as he wanted, thinking that maybe tonight could be the first night of him repaying Remy for all that he's done wrong.
"Why do you keep looking at me like that?" Asked Remy, bopping Spencer in the gut with his half-eaten cotton candy bag.
"No reason."
"Bullshit." Commented Remy stopping their stroll down the boardwalk.
Spencer huffing, Remy always called him out, turning in his stance, so he now stood in front of him, dropping his hand and replacing his touch to the sides of his face, pulling him into a deep kiss, a kiss that had passion behind it one that showed his own love for Remy.
The kiss floored Remy. First Spencer had never kissed him in public like this. People were walking all around them, and he couldn't seem to care less at the moment. Second, he never kissed him this deeply before. Remy getting his first real taste of what Spencer felt for him. He grew weak in his knees as he stood there completely taken by Spencer.
"Look at these faggots!!"
The word crashed on both of their ears. A word that didn't sit well with either of them but struck so much hate and pain for Spencer that he instantly saw red every time he heard it.
"The fuck did you just say?" Yelled Spencer.
His emotions so quick, flipping from one extreme to the next in a second flat.
"I called you and your twink, faggots." Repeated the male. Laughing this time as his buddy joined in with him.
Spencer stepped towards the male which Remy was quick to reach out for him to hold him back, but he jerked his arm away.
"Wanna say it to my face this time."
The male huffed, "I called you a . . "
Was all Spencer let him get out before he punched him square in the jaw. The male, stumbling back into his friend.
"Spencer don't!" Remy once again tried to pull him back before it got too out of hand.
People were starting to look their way, stopping to watch the fight that was about to break out. Spencer jerked his arm away again.
"He's not worth it. Let's just go." Remy stepped in front of Spencer this time, "Let's go home."
It would be his luck that the one night he finally got too truly enjoy himself with Spencer would also be ruined by some inbreed jerk. He could already feel a shift in Spencer as he stood there trying to get him to back down.
"It's not worth it." Stated Remy.
How could standing up for himself not be worth it, his dark gaze cutting hard to Remy, wondering how he could say something like that to him.
Without thinking, he shoved Remy out of his way, shoved him so hard he actually fell, catching all of his weight with his hand, feeling his wrist pop. The male regained his footing and quickly lunged towards Spencer. Pushing him up hard against the metal railing of the boardwalk. The bar hit dead center on his back.
The man's fist made contact with his face a few times before Spencer could recover, dishing out his own blows. One hand held tight to the collar of the male's shirt, which gave him better leverage. Taking his foot, shifting it behind the male's leg, and pushing clipping him. The two of them fell to the boardwalk. Neither one of them stopped till the cops came and pulled Spencer off of him.
Both bleeding from the mouth and nose. Pretty sure he broke the males. Smiling a bloody smile as the cops placed cuffs on him. The crowd had grown greatly. People had their phones out taking video of the fight. That smile quickly torn away as he saw the look on Remy's face.
