At home the lights were already on
“Why are the lights on?” Jay asked.
“That’s strange, I’m sure I turned it off when I left.” I mumbled.
“Why do I feel like something bad is gonna happen?” Jay worried. I heard footsteps in my room, Jay and I looked at my room.
“What was that?” Jay mouthed. I put my finger against my lips and slowly tiptoed to the kitchen. I grabbed a knife and looked at Jay, “Wait here…” I whispered.
“My soul is still a man, let me do the honours.” Jay held his hand out expecting me to give him the knife.
“Jay, shut up and wait here!” I whispered loudly. Jay rolled his eyes. I tiptoed to my room holding the knife in front of me as a weapon. Hesitating, I opened my room door and shrieked.
A young woman was curled up, crouching down in the corner of my room. The woman had her hands over head and her eyes were tightly shut. I raised my eyebrows and dropped the knife. The woman didn’t look dangerous at all.
“Who are you?” I asked. She opened her eyes and gasped. She got onto her knees and put her hands together. Jay walked in.
“I’m sorry! I really didn’t mean to break in but a few days ago I saw you entering Mina’s house-” she explained.
“You know Mina?” I interrupted her. I had never seen this woman before.
“Yes but I don’t think she knows me. I followed you around for 3 days excluding the day when I found you, and then I saw Kayla with you! So I broke into your house to find out what is going-” she exclaimed.
“Who is Kayla?” I asked.
“What do you mean who is Kayla?” She looked at Jay and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. “You are Kayla, aren’t you?”
“Me? I am?” Jay and the woman both looked at me. The woman got up and grabbed me by the collar, choking me.
“What have you done to Kayla?!” she screamed.
“I don’t know who Kayla is!” I screamed back, barely breathing.
“What do you mean you don’t know who Kayla is?! The person standing right next to you is Kayla!”
“B-but that’s Jay!”
“Are you fucking delusional?! That is clearly a woman not a man!”
“Woman, you are choking me! Let go!”
“Not until you tell me what you’ve done to Kayla!”
“STOPP!” Jay shrieked, pointing the knife I had dropped at the woman. The woman finally let go and I coughed heavily.
“Kayla! What happened to you!” she cried, walking towards him.
“Stop, stand back! I really don’t know who you are or who Kayla is!” Jay said.
“What? Kayla it’s me Jaclyn!”
“Jacklyn? Look, I may look like Kayla but my mind and soul is Jay.”
“Who is Jay?” Jaclyn stuttered.
“Let’s all just calm down and explain everything.” I suggested, when I got myself back together. Jay nodded and the woman glared at me. I gulped.
