Introduction - 6

I was really happy with all the stuff I tried on this page! There were a lot of "firsts" for me in this introduction. I was initially dreading having to make an introduction for my series, but as soon as I realized I kind of NEEDED it to fully tell the story of TCotC, it kind of became like a warm-up chapter -- I got to experiment and try all sorts of artistic techniques I've never tried before! The volcanic eruption in particular was really interesting to figure out. I used photo references for a lot of these panels, so I definitely knew what to aim for; however, figuring out how to actually recreate the same feeling of molten rock spattering out of the Earth was a genuine challenge I hadn't been expecting!

It is really only just the beginning of an extensive journey into a parallel universe that I have spent years upon years building and breathing life into. It is a love letter not just to ancient Egyptian mythology, but to all stories of cryptids, monsters, and other things that go bump in the night. While the main focus lies upon the two aforementioned Egyptians, there are countless other references to other ancient cultures and legends throughout the story. TCotC is a complex story that might not be for everyone, but it completely captures my love of ancient history and the supernatural.
