“I see that you are doing very well, boy!”
His voice was so deep! Just as I imagined would be compatible to his frame.
“Yes mister!”
“That’s the spirit!”
As he said this, he turned towards Sir, who displayed a level of astonishment himself at the man.
“You, gentleman! Are you this kid’s master?”
“As long as he admits it.”
“Yes mister! He is.”
“Well, well! Pardon this display of ill-manners of my part! I should introduce myself! My name is Perses Cow, I am this family’s youngest yet I am the tallest and strongest! Father, have the courtesy of introducing this family to the new comers!”
“Alright then, I am Oxen Cow, I believe that you’re acquainted with both me and my wife, Olly Cow. The young, strong man on your left, little boy, is Bantobazanes Cow, the beautiful woman on your right young man, that’s Latossa Cow, and this, is the Cow family, how about you introduce yourselves now?”
“I’ll do it! My name is Wvi Tweem, and this is my master, sir Periergeia! We were on a journey with our crew to discover new lands, but then the sea raged...”
“I know the rest, but what’s your last name young man? have you perhaps no last-name? Unusual! Not that it matters anyway, I’ll give you mine-”
“Anthrozel, my full name is Periergeia Anthrozel.”
Just as Sir said that, Mr Perses looked slightly surprised, rather displeased at Sir’s name, it wasn’t noticeable at all, his reaction that is, I happened to perceive it because I was all concentrated on him. He quickly got his demeanour all together.
“What a catchy name! Don’t you agree, all of you?”
“Yes indeed!” replied Latossa.
“That name suits you very much young man!” followed Bantobazanes.
Sir remained composed, and replied:
“Well, A name’s a name, nothing more! Am I right?”
“Yes indeed! You too child, Wvi Tweem is a beautiful name for a more beautiful boy like you!”
We joked and ate; I never seen better time. The thing I appreciated the most is that they didn’t force us to tell anything of our pasts, they were really good people. We went to our beds later on, for it was past mid-night.
I am hyper active by nature since the time I started remembering, and considering that I just slept some hours ago, I remained awake for the long while, the while that took Mr.Perses to come and enter our room.
I knew it was him by his prominent stature, he even bent his head to enter. The moonlight from the window cleared the darkness around his figure and face.
When I saw his face, I was horrified, the least thing I thought to say about it was, as if the rage ever took a human form.
He, although blazing with rage, approached our beds slowly, soundlessly, he sneaked his way to our beds. Once he reached, he bent down to Sir’s bed, then casually put his gigantic hands around Sir’s neck, murmuring to him:
“Descendant of the villain, I shall slay you by my hands.”
He said it in a voice so low, I got goosebumps hearing it, there was so much rage, so much anger in his voice, so much hatred. I knew was he was going to do; he was about to kill Sir.
I, just a while, was so scarred that I couldn’t move, but soon after I came to this realization, I snapped, and, without any grain of consciousness, jumped Mr.Perses, I grabbed his neck with one arm, punching him with the other, I was kicking him, biting him, crying and screaming:
“WHY WOULD YOU KILL HIM!! DON’T KILL MY FAMILLY!! DON’T KILL MY FAMILLY!!!”
I didn’t know what I was doing.
He was struggling to rid himself of me, he didn’t even try to hold back, he tried to hurt me, but he was all clear to me while he struggled to notice me in the darkness. And without any notice, the rest of the family stormed the scene, then someone of them started hollering:
“Child! You are most mistaken! What you consider a master is the descent of a daemon! If it wasn’t for his ancestor! Prince Perses wouldn’t be humiliated as such!”
That sudden surprise caught me off guard, then Mr. Perses managed to grab me, I thought I was about to watch my master get slaughtered, until he himself spoke:
“It all makes perfect sense now! But drugs! Why, I didn’t expect that! I was so absorbed in thought! I knew I shouldn’t have taken that cup of water from you, Prince! I did commit a grave mistake!”
“Anthrozel!”
“Hear me out! I am not who you think of! Listen to me! You have nothing to lose! You know I am unable to do anything but to speak!”
“... Speak then, who might you be? depending on what you say, your words may be your killer or your saviour.”
“This land was, a long time ago, ruled by your ancestors, Prince Perses, they have gone by the name ‘Akimaneod’.”
“...”
“It was this way until the time of a rascal of a king, whose mistakes have costed a steep price... This Akimaneod was a foul, with all my respect to you Prince. Just like a child, he was swayed by adventures, riches, and women. He was the gate to the crown tothe man you accused me a descendant of, a man who got by the name of ‘Anthrozel’. Anthrozel, being a nobleman, and a cunning one also, as he was famous for his inventions, used this king’s strong desire for pleasure and glory, to trick him into wandering in the sea, searching for a mythical land that probably isn’t existing anywhere but in his imagination, a land where all the greedy king’s wishes were to be granted. Fortunately for Anthrozel, the king, a dumb-found young man he was, believed, and did of Anthrozel’s word, ordering to build a vehicle designed by Anthrozel for that matter, and taking with him a bunch of adventuresome noblemen and noblewomen with their slaves as crew, with of course, Anthrozel’s well trained slave among them, to be the king’s personal. You must know that Anthrozel gave that slave in order to prove his sincerity, since slaves were personal property, and it’s hard to train them to do your bidding. The king did set sail at last, and after a terribly long and dangerous journey, they reached, but not to the promised land, they reached to an inhabited and deserted land, where nothing existed but trees and sand. Some of the slaves, filled with rage upon the realization that their labour was for nothing, finally renounced their obedience to the king, and used their numbers in the favour of becoming themselves, the masters, these slaves, aided by their fellows, became later on the rulers of that land, Anthrozel’s was one of them, he, as was the tradition, inherited his former master’s name, the same name was passed on to generations, and since I, was the slave of an Inheritor, I had to inherit the name as well, now as it is in my homeland, people with fair skin were the ones to be enslaved, and they were only to breed between themselves to provide more and more slaves. Prince, I told you now thepart of the story that you didn’t know. Now, for the other part, kingAkimaneod’s family had it hard, really hard, Anthrozel, shrew as he is,assassinated any and every relative and kin that had Akimaneod blood in them, but perhaps due to some failures of his part, some survived, hence yourpresence prince, but I digress. Anthrozel the fiend, reigned himself a king at last!He bought himself all the love and the passion of the people! Outrageous! What grief are you suffering Prince! Your royal blood must be boiling!
Now look. This maybe common knowledge in this land, but I deduced this, by solid points of observation, connected with imagination, to a logical conclusion. I’ll list the points, starting with point one: The land I come from and this land share lots of similarities that were noticed by my part, the language, the structure and shape of buildings, the clothes, the habits, the routes, generally, the whole culture. All of that is similar to what’s in my land, only but the slavery system, curious, eh! Point two: your location, you people live in the outskirts of the land, and have to travel a great distance only to get a service, now, wouldn’t that be suspicious? Point three: you people’s reaction to my name, all of you reacted as if I mentioned the most hellish demon, and stated I’m his offspring, you may had tried to have it hidden, prince, your face that is, but the others were not a good as you in doing so. Point four: they called you ‘Prince’ and mentioned ‘humiliation’ and ‘treachery’ in relation to Anthrozel, ‘my ancestor’, the evil one. Point five: you see the debris out there? Those were the debris of the same vehicle that Anthrozel designed, and I know, because I had the luxury of being a slave of an Anthrozel and studying them, and the final point, if you check the corpses, while you are at it, you’ll notice some prominently big guys out there, ABNORMALLY, prominently big guys, do you know what were the shared name of those guys? You guessed it; it was Akimaneod! And they looked to a ‘very much’ degree like you! And guess what once more! They were outcasts! The lowest grade of scum in my land! Now, point one tells me that this land and the island are surely connected, how? Immigration of course, most probably from the more powerful and vast land to the weaker and smaller one, the slavery system? A rebellion, it should have definitely occurred at some point of time after the immigration, point two tells me that you people are unwanted, since that’s the same thing my land did with your kind, but why are unwanted? Point three gives me an insight, some ‘Anthrozel’ guy is most probably the reason, who is probably related to me in some way, but in what context? That’s where point four and five come in hand, the royal realm is involved, and so is the vehicle, seemingly, you lot lost the most prized position to the man, and that’s a long time ago, somehow exiled throughout some trick, a cautious and ambitious man like him wouldn’t pull one over a powerful man if he wasn’t powerful himself, thus, he had to be a nobleman, and point six, and this one’s my favourite, tells me clearly your true last name, and thus, the name all your linage held and will hold. And it tells me that you are the descendant of that once so powerful a man, or else the rebellious wouldn’t treat your cousins in my homeland that harshly, it was as if it was for revenge. That’s all you need to know, you surely can tell that I deduced correctly the part you know, now you’ll make sure that I am a foreigner, for no one of this land would care to make this deduction for a piece of knowledge socommon, but alas, the effort was worth it, for it is the safest way to obtain this knowledge, if I asked someone, I may have put both yourselves and mine in danger, for an ambitious and scheming man such as Anthrozel would always fear the day of the return of Akimaneod reign and rise, so it’s not far to assume that everyone under his rule is to report anything that may be suspicious, and what’s more suspicious than he who doesn’t know the rise of oh-so-beloved a king. Also, just note that I wouldn’t have so honestly told you my name if I were of this land, that is, if I knew who YOU are.”
At that moment, I was oblivious to what was around me, I was flabbergasted not by the history of the ancestor of Mr.Perses, but by Sir’s wit that never fails to surprise me.
“Prince, so you’ll trust that I am true about the part that you don’t know. I will help you become king. I’ll prove my indifference to this lineage to you.”
“...”
“Prince, I repeat, I’ll help you become monarch of this land.”
“MONARCH?!” shouted the crowded voice.
“Haven’t I proved myself to you already?”
