"I assume we're putting everything else down for now?" Levin looks at me, eyebrows raised.
"Yes, for right now," I say ending our conversation. He knows I really do like my tea time.
About half an hour later my brother and I make our way over to the throne room.
"Hey Malachi," Levin calls out
"Yes, Levin?"
"How are you planning to present yourself"
I snap my fingers at his words. My crown of obsidian falls on my head, adorned with black crystal, aquamarines, fire opals, and diamonds.
My clothes change into my finest ones, made of the darkest black velvet. My buttons and shoulders become adorned with gold and diamonds.
My long black cape falls to the ground the crest of House Carnsha adorned on it.
My power radiates throughout the room. I place a cruel smile on my face. The side of me that truly enjoys others suffering.
"For this meeting, my magic tells me to live in the suffering of the people we're about to meet" My twin shutters at my voice, looking away.
Anywhere, to not meet my eyes, the eyes that told people I would kill them without a moment's hesitation.
"ANNOUNCING HIS MAJESTY EMPEROR MALACHI CARNSHA DE ALTERIA" A servant announces throughout the hall, I enter
"AND HIS TWIN PRINCE LEVIN CARNSHA DE ALTERIA" The servant continues, Levin follows me in, Edward slips in the door to not be noticed.
I sit down on my throne my aura unleashes throughout the room making everyone take a step back and get into a defensive position.
I glare at the people in front of me, the girl struggles against her restraints.
"Untie her" I command.
Today I don't feel like playing the game of why they tied her up.
"Your Majesty, You can't!" One of the men in front of me shouts.
"Who told you to speak." I snarl at the man, he shrinks back in fear.
I smile at his actions enjoying the fear coming off the people in front of me.
"Shall I kill him for talking without your permission brother?" Levin muses from beside me, just loud enough so our visitors can hear him.
"Kill them? Hmmmmm, let's hear the girl out first." I digress
The knight finally cuts through the last of her restains.
Once free she turns and bolts running towards the exit, but she gets stops by the knights guarding the door.
"Why are you running?" I smile slightly rising out of my chair looking at the girl who just tried to run away.
Instead of turning around, she tries to get around the knights.
The knights around her, really don't want to hurt her so they don't do anything much except block her path.
She lunges forward, the knight in front of her doesn't notice what she is going for.
Grabbing the Knight's knife, she takes it and points it.
"Let me out! Or I'll... I'll" She shouts her conviction dies out.
"Or you'll what." I look at her in disbelief. "I don't care if you kill yourself, but if you going to do can you go do it in some back alley so my servants don't have to clean up the blood."
She looks at me incredulously.
"You... you don't want my life?" She looks at me in confusion.
"I cn only imagine to know what trauma of lies you've been told about me, but there is no reason to kill yourself."
She lowers the knife, but grips it so hard her knuckles turn white.
I sit back down on my throne.
"But... the rumors."
"Rumors are always a mix of lies and truths." I laugh, my brother joins me in the laugher.
"Why.. Why.. are you laughing." She looks at us in confusion.
"We spread most of the lies about us, we can only imagine which ones you've heard about us." My brother admits to her smiling.
"What is your name?" I ask with a little bit of kindness in my voice,
"Alexandria" She flips her r, showing the western style of speech.
"A name befitting a queen, who named you?" I say with force, it is more a command than a question.
"My mother"
"She must have been from around these parts, very few languages flip r like we do here."
"Yes, what does that have to do with anything."
"Nothing important, but I can't believe that she ever hated Alteria, it is an uncommon stance even within the poorest parts of our territories. I don't think she wouldn't have told you anything about her homeland, even if she was from a conquered state." I explain.
"She did tell me stories, but forgive me if the rumors made me scared of falling into your hands."
"Fear only controls you if you let it." My twin whispers from beside me.
The men that Alexandria brought with her stayed quiet during the entire time we talked back and forth.
The reason they did is that I'm only now noticing that I subconsciously reached my magic out to take the speech from them.
"Well, I don't know what your family wants, but I do not want your life, so breath easy I will ask nothing of you, except for how our Empire can help you."
"Our?"
"Why yes, is your mother not of Alteria, plus those born in Alteria have distinctive magic signatures I can confidently say that you were born here, and even if you were raised somewhere else you belong here," I tell her, my eyes unwavering.
"My family is a fallen noble house from Cursica, I've heard my mother's stories of Alteria, but I've also heard the rumors, and as you said there is always some truth in rumors." She looks down at the ground defeated.
"What do you wish to never be again?"
"Weak" I see the determination in her eyes, I remember her mother had the same look as she fled to another land for the sake of Alteria.
A truth that this girl in front of me is not yet ready to face.
"Weak you say." I look away standing and going down the dais. "Then never be weak again. You have your answer on what to do with the rest of your life."
