You make it about two blocks away when you realize that you feel happy for the first time in a long time. It must be because of that girl. Something concerning her niggles at the back of your mind. Well you never actually spoke to her or anything. Or asked for her name…what have you done? You never asked for her name let alone her number! For the first time in more than a year you feel the frozen tundra of your soul thawing at her emanating warmth. Why do you get the feeling that something really important happened to you and you are letting it slip through your fingers?
==> BRÀS: GO BACK AND TELL THE GIRL!
You have to ask her for her number or at least what her name is. Turning around, you flat out sprint back towards the bakery. It feels as if your running head first into the next big part of your life. Halfway through the crosswalk you hear squealing tires of a truck bearing down upon you. The impact sends you flying; you land in a broken bloody heap on the street.
==> GAME OVER.
==> TRY AGAIN?
==>YES
==> BRÀS: TRY AGAIN.
Your name is Bràs de Oliva Domingo and you are most certainly not dead or bleeding out on the road. Why would that be? Anyway, you are standing in line to pay for your coffee at the Bakery when you see the most beautiful girl you’ve ever seen. You are lost in thoughts about her gold-green eyes.
==> BRÀS: PAY THE LADY.
Oh, would you look at that the cashier lady has been trying to get your attention. And you have been holding up the line. You pay the lady for your coffee. Mystery girl is still in the shelves. You want to talk to her, need to, but you haven’t had much luck with women recently so you pretend to browse at something on the shelf while you think of something to say and gather your courage.
==>BRÀS: SAY SOMETHING!
She keeps looking at you like she’s expecting you to do something. Say something before she thinks you’re weird. You meet her eyes with a disused smile and a wave. She giggles and takes another bite of her Popsicle. Okay, that wasn’t so bad. Next step. Deep breath.
“Hi my name is Bràs, and you are…” you hold out your hand over the shelf awkwardly. She chuckles again and god you like that sound.
“Ana.” She takes your hand. And you get the feeling that for once everything will go all right. You take your first step towards living again.
Congratulations, dear reader, for making it to the end! If anyone ever reads both parts lol. In all honesty, I full heartedly recommend reading Daytripper, it's gorgeous and will make you cry. I wont spoil the graphic novel though. if you liked Homestuck, you'll probably like Daytripper.
You meet the love of your life by chance. Will you pass each other like ships in the night or seize this chance? Can death stop you? Daytripper, a graphic novel by Fàbio Moon and Gabriel Bà, is a story about death and also about life. This is a fanfic I made for a summer assignment for college back in 2014.
