I'm a bit confused by the leveling and knowledge imbalance.
Though we haven't been given details about the game's leveling system, I can at least understand logically that the system involves more than simply accruing experience points; that simply grinding and investing time will not guarantee a higher level.
I can also understand that this could lead to large variations in the skill, experience, and detailed game knowledge that players could have, independent of their game level.
However, “lightning attacks will deal double damage to people covered in metal armor,” and, “fire attacks will deal extra damage to people wearing linen armor,” . . . This feels like telling someone, “Pro tip: That Fire Elemental you are fighting, did you know it’s element is FIRE? It will take extra damage from WATER attacks.” Like, even if a high level player wouldn’t necessarily be highly skilled or experienced, this seems like a pretty basic game mechanic to be telling someone who isn’t completely new to the game?? I’d expect the crew to tell Older Bro about this, since he doesn’t know anything about video games, but not for it to be treated as a useful tip by a high level player at the highly competitive tryouts of a top guild?
Still interesting story and I’m looking forward to where things go; just getting confused by the game’s structure. 😅
