Silence rang through the cave after her loud exclamation. Sera paused, her confident expression drifting to uneasiness as anxiety welled up in her chest. “A-Am… I wrong?” She asked slowly with slight tears twinkling in her eyes. ‘What if I’m wrong?! I don’t want to die…! But I gave it my all! It could have been an easier password, but that wouldn’t make sense! Why have a time limit and a riddle if the answer is something like “Life”! That wouldn’t make any sense! They wouldn’t say the password itself because that would give it away!’ She thought stubbornly as more tears gathered in her eyes.
“Child…” The creature said seriously as its eyes gleamed grimly while it rose to its feet, making the girl sniff in fear of death.
“N-No… Wait-” Seraphina mumbled weakly as she stumbled a step back, her shoulders shaking as tears dropped from her eyes. ‘I don’t want to die…!’
“SERA!!”
The sudden shout of her name ripped her out of her trance, her eyes widening as she spun around. “That voice-”
“SERA!!!” Michael shouted in panic as he slithered into the cave, his golden glowing eyes settling on the creature in surprise as it turned its head towards him before he spotted his daughter. “Sera! Thank Astria!”
“P-Papa…?” Seraphina asked in shock, more tears dropping from her eyes before she burst out in tears of relief. “Papa!!” She cried out as she raced towards him and threw herself into her father's arm.
“Shhh! It’s fine now! It’s alright now… Papa is here now…” The Archangel whispered to her soothingly as he held her in his arms protectively, gently brushing over the crown of her head.
“I-I was so scared! I thought I had to d-die!” Seraphina cried out loudly in his arms, hiccuping loudly as the four-year-old let out everything.
The creature stared at Michael intensely before letting out a loud similar to a huff as it laid back down with its wings folding back up again.
“Shh! Shh! You’re safe now. Papa will protect you…” Michael whispered to his daughter, feeling like a weight has been lifted off his chest. When he had found out Seraphina wasn’t by his side anymore, he had immediately broken out in a panic and searched for her everywhere. But who would have thought he would end up finding her here...
The King of Angels carefully picked Sera up and let her continue to sob into his shoulder as he met the gaze of the being. “First Cherub.” He greeted before bowing down carefully.
Seraphina paused in her cries at that, her hiccups dying in her throat as her eyes widened. “Ch-Cherub!!!” She shouted out in realization, her head whipping around to stare at the creature in complete surprise and shock.
“Michael Yuso. Status: King of Angels, Archangel of Justice. Greetings.” The Cherub greeted the lower-ranked angel with a polite tilt of its head before staring at Seraphina in slight amusement.
“No, no, no! Wait a moment!” Sera shouted out. She wiggled out of her surprised father's arms and ran towards the Cherub. “You are one of the Cherubim?! A high-ranked angel?!” She shouted at it upset.
“Seraphina Yuso… Status: Princess of Heaven, Daughter of Archangel Michael. Indeed, I am.” The First Cherub answered her in slight amusement as a grin spread on its face once more.
Seraphina gaped at the Cherub before pouting deeply as she pointed at it. “You fooled me! Why did you do that?!” She asked angrily as Michael just looked back and forth between his higher up and his daughter in surprise.
“No, I didn’t. I tested you.” The Cherub said almost smugly as its tail swished happily.
“That was not nice! I was scared!” Seraphina huffed at the amused angel and crossed her arms angrily. “You didn’t even tell me if I was right or not! Meanie!”
Michael sweatdropped, quickly swiping his daughter up into his arms with a nervous smile. “I apologize for any trouble my daughter made you.” He said quickly and shushed Sera, who started sulking in his arms. “I hope there was no damage done or anything like this.”
The Cherub shook its head casually. “No, not at all. Do you want to travel to Terra? Password.” It said slowly, ignoring the fact the Archangel sighed in relief.
Seraphina peeked up at the password part, looking at the Cherub in surprise before glancing up to her father in excitement.
Michael gave the Cherub a weirded-out side-glance before grumbling in annoyance. “You usually never ask me for the password… Why now, all of the sudden?” He grumbled before groaning in defeat. “Fine, fine. Viva la vita.” He answered with a roll of his eyes.
Seraphina’s eyes widened at that in surprise, a bright precious smile spreading on her lips as a small cheer left her. “Yay!” ‘I was right after all! Take that scary Cherub!’
‘Geez. First Cherub is getting senile. I just hope they didn’t harm my daughter or we are going to have a fucking problem.’ Michael thought grumpily, not happy he found his daughter crying in front of the Cherub.
The Cherub grinned at that and stepped away from the tunnel it blocked. “Have a safe trip.” It said casually before laying down again. “Oh, and don’t forget... I can hear your thoughts.” It reminded them sharply, making both father and daughter freeze for a moment before they both nodded quickly.
“Of course, of course! Thank you for your service, honorable First Cherub.” Michael mumbled out quickly.
“I apologize for my behavior,” Seraphina added quickly with a nervous smile before the two vanished within the portal to Terra.
As soon as the two had disappeared, a loud hearty chuckle echoed through the cave. “Haha haha! What a surprise!” The high-ranked angel shook its head in amusement, pleased with the interaction it had with Seraphina. “Michael’s child holds more potential than I thought. He doesn’t even realize it yet. She’s a gem that will forge the future for us.” The First Cherub smiled and closed its eyes, letting it’s wisdom of the worlds come to silence once more.
