Aria's POV:
"Hi hun," I managed to say with a scrawny voice, looking into his tear-filled eyes. "What day is it?" I managed to say as I feel my body being too heavy from not moving, for days.
"It's February 21st, you have been unconscious for three days," Ethan said with a low tone.
"Three days? That's long," I managed to express with a small smile.
"Indeed, it's long," Ethan manages to respond with his forehead to my hand.
"I guess you found out, since this was a serious situation, that I am pregnant," I announced with my eyes closed in disappointment. "I wished to tell you after being done with the orphanage, to earn some money, to buy a children's storybook. To tell the child each night when we go to bed," I announce, causing Ethan to burst into tears.
"It's alright, the important thing is that you are still alive, Daniel too," Ethan responded.
"Daniel? So you managed to find him, what happened after I fell unconscious?” I asked Ethan, with a curious face.
Ethan began to recount all the things that happened, "First of all. After you fell unconscious because of the Soundhawk I..."
After being in the village's hospital for three more days, after rehabilitation and recounting everything that happened, I was finally discharged from the hospital. Eva came by yesterday and gave us the reward for the quests we did before this mishap and gave us a little extra for our unexpected problem.
"Congratulations on your discharge!" I hear Ethan behind me.
"Thanks," I respond with a voice towards the bed as I am packaging my brown tight clothes alongside wearing my white robe.
"But you already know that I was going to be discharged today," I respond, turning towards Ethan with a smile.
"Come on, let's go away from this dark place," Ethan announces while looking down the brown hallway of patients.
"Right," I respond, starting to walk towards him with the clothes in my arms.
"Leaving so soon?" we hear behind the corner with a scrawny as we are heading towards the exit.
"Yes, we are," I respond with a will of my own with a smile on my face.
"Remember little child, take care of the coming generation, nurture it and it will grow taller than everyone. Is what I say, but, it was Phaedra who brought that up," Elder Claire continues while looking on my stomach and she continues. "It's going to be a shaky future, a future of pain and sorrow. But there exists light around this child, nurture it well," Elder Claire said while shaking her head in acknowledgment.
"That's all I had to say, and all that Phaedra has to say," she announces putting me and Ethan's mouths to the floor.
"Why would she give us advice, when she didn't even bother to notice me," Ethan said while searching for an answer.
"I have no clue either, she's a peculiar woman," Elder Claire responded, holding her chin per usual.
"Thank you for the advice, for both you, Elder Claire and Phaedra," I say while a gut-wrenching feeling creeps out, making me uncomfortable. "Thank you for all that you have done," I say towards the Elder while bowing to show appreciation.
"That's the least I can do since you carry the new generation and saved another part of it," she responds while pointing out the door, over the meadow towards the path which leads towards the orphanage.
"Thank you, for your hospitality," I respond while my head is still down.
"Please, don't come again," she jokes and starts chuckling.
"I hope not," I hear over my left shoulder.
"Me neither," I respond with an exhaling puff.
"Now, now, don't block off the entrance, away with you," Elder Claire responds while gesturing for us to go.
"Oh, one last thing Phaedra wished for me to tell you is that. "Seek me, when the child turns 14, and he shall be enrolled into the institute of kings, on the flying island Diontara. The Academy of Tara." Is everything that Phaedra wished to convey," Elder Claire said with a serious stern voice.
"That depends on the child," I responded, peering into her deep gray eyes.
"Right, it is its choice, to enroll or not.” Elder Claire repeats with a hint of fear in her eyes.
"Right, see you later Elder Claire!" I yell out as we have descended on the stone pavement outside the clinic.
"Take care!" I hear from behind me as Emily waves her hand with her grandmother by her side.
As we head towards the ports of the village, I lean towards Ethan with my head in his shoulder and whisper, "I need to tell you something".
"Oh, what is on your mind?" Ethan asks while tilting his head towards mine.
"I, I think we should retire from the adventurers’ life," I state with a low tone.
"I have been thinking about the future, us together with the child. Living, but after this week's event, I can't proceed to keep adventuring, it's too-"
"-dangerous, I know. I have been thinking about it too," Ethan interrupts me mid-sentence.
"I wish for all of us, three to live together, not one of runoff and die, I wish for it to be happy too," Ethan continues with a sympathetic voice.
"So, it's settled, we should retire from the adventurers’ profession and seek something far less dangerous, for us to live, at least long enough for the child to have a happy childhood," Ethan stated with real words.
"We need to tell the others that we are quitting the party," I respond with a low sad tone.
"WHAT!? YOU'RE LEAVING!?" I hear from Diane in the scroll.
"Yes, we are quitting this party because we want to," I announce with a determined voice.
"Oh my, there's nothing we can do, as I have already suspected that you'd leave the party," I hear from Reinna.
"We already figured it out, since you and Ethan have the biggest chance of retirement," Amber butted in in the conversation.
"Did I miss something?" I hear from a sober Andrew with his hair spiked in every direction.
"The only thing you missed is that I am pregnant," I respond to Andrew, making him turn pale.
"He, he... Won..." Andrew muttered while looking down, with his knees on the floor. "DAMN IT!" is all we could hear after he was cut out by Amber.
"So, it's for the protection of the kid, right? And for the security and happiness for the future" the quick-thinking Amber responded.
"Indeed, it's for the child and her protection," Ethan butted in.
"She sadly almost lost her life when we took an easy quest, which turned almost fatal. So, we believe it's not suitable for us to perform in the adventurous profession" Ethan stated with a burning fire in his eyes.
"So what are you gonna do now?" we hear from the black-haired girl.
"Well, we're thinking of doing some normal professions, I for one am thinking about becoming a teacher while Ethan is considering to be a village guard," I respond towards Lilith, who looks quite sad about us leaving.
"Don't worry, we will still hold up contact with you, well. At least once a month, that's what we hope for," I include to make Lilith and the others a bit happier.
