"Nothing like the mountains,"
That's what Roy had said
Told me we should visit
He's my best friend
I went with him
Didnt take that much
Kiss me, convince me,
easy as he does
And we saw Nebraska from the air
Then he went and cut off all his hair
We rented out a Camry
More west than we'd ever
Traded tales until he
Couldn't one up me
I turned to see his grin,
Going 85 on 40
Mullet shorn and missing
Gorgeous nonetheless
"We're here!" he says in hoots and hollers
7th street never been so bothered
Finally we stumbled to the peak
We made it at the least
I've never been so tired
It's never felt so true
A sight we haven't seen before
It looks just like an open door
And falling in the snow
Man, I love you
The clearest that I've seen him
Mind was golden sharp
Tempered and even
Still he's just the same
He made me dinner daily
Nothing spoke as loud
Followed him through lines and
Through the crowd
At the peak he goes and does it
I pull his glasses down and see an angel
Beautiful and strange
It's Monday March the 10th, 2003
I've never been so tired
It's never felt so true
A sight we haven't seen before
It looks just like an open door
And kneeling in the snow
Man i love you
Oh dude, I do
