"Initiates line up." A voice spoke and as they looked up, they saw an old man sitting in a big chair across from them looking stern. "That's the master of the ShuCha division." Some of the older disciples who came to take a look at the show quickly said to make their juniors follow the order right away. Following along with the command they quickly all lined up heads lowered. "Good then now we can begin." The Master spoke again and with his words, the two men who were standing one step below the master on the stairs leading up to the big chair walked down the stairs to each stand on one side of the room.
In his mind, Mo Shin Yun heard Wang Ha Yon's voice echoing telling him all about those two men. After listening to the girl's words yesterday Mo Shin Yun was pretty sure these two were the head disciple of the ShuCha division. One of them was a man looking like he was in his fortieth with brought shoulders and a really intense face. Sharp edges and scars gave him the kind of look you would expect from a military leader. The other was the one the daughter of the military division master was secretly involved with. He looked no older than twenty with a round soft face. His eyes looked watery and his whole figure gave off the feeling of being washed out. All in all, he looked a little dull. Mo Shin Yun sighed shaking his head. He shouldn't judge other people's looks while he didn't even know what he himself looked like.
After the two men went down to stand next to the stairs in silence a group of men and women entered all in colourful robes, not like the students who were forced to wear one colour the teacher could choose to wear whatever they wanted. One after another these teachers started picking out one or two of the young people standing there in a row. Soon there were only a few left and the teachers who hadn't picked yet had a really sour expression. Finally, a man looking like he was in his early thirties stepped up pointing at Mo Shin Yun and one other yellow-robed girl. "You two follow me." He said his face showing a wide smile but his voice was shroff.
Mo Shin Yun quickly followed the man trying to keep up the best he could but the man was walking rather quickly as if trying to leave this place as soon as possible. "You two are going to follow my teaching from now on." He said before pushing them onto a young woman. "She is my best student and will take care of you and get you acquainted with the place." After he said that he disappeared in a different direction. The girl in green robes smiled at them. "Nice to meet you from now on I will be your senior. My name is Hwan So Chin."
Mo Shin Yun smiled returning her greeting. After the short introduction, the young woman started showing them around. From her explanation, it was clear that the teacher they had gotten assigned to wasn't high on the social ladder within the sect. After taking them over to the ShuCha division she showed them around explaining everything they needed to know about the social hierarchy and the different branches within the division. Mo Shin Yun still wasn't sure what ShuCha was but he really started to get a better understanding of how this place worked.
After showing them around Hwan So Chin stopped in front of a small house. Or more like a hut. The place only had one room and one inner room divided by a thin wall. "This is your place Mo Shin Yun. We girls have our own places over on the other side of the hill. Feel free to come to visit if you have a question or ask your seniors." Hwan So Chin smiled as she bid her farewell to Mo Shin Yun. Watching the two girls as they were leaving, he let out a deep sigh. A lot had happened within not even two days.
Finally, alone Mo Shin Yun closed the door and turned around to inspect the room. It was exactly what it looked like at first glance. In the inner room was a bed and a small desk in the outer room was a dresser and a basin for washing and that was about it. Looking around once more Mo Shin Yun finally found something, he had been eager to find for some time now. A bronze mirror was hanging at the wall across from the dresser. It wasn't big but stepping closer he could see a face reflected in it.
The face looked young maybe around seventeen or eighteen not older. It was thin with high cheekbones, thin lips and round innocent-looking eyes. At first, Mo Shin Yun was unable to make the connection. He knew that was his face but for some reason, it just didn't really recognize with him that he now was a young flower boy. Lucky his jawline was still sharp and his nose high and straight taking away some of the pretty boy feeling his face was giving off. Stepping closer he started to examine the face even closer. There was a small scar over his left eye splitting his eyebrow making it look like those intentional razor lines that were in at some point in his previous world. Other than that, he still couldn't get over his deep black round eyes. Previously he had considered himself handsome with a nice manly face and almond-shaped eyes now he was a pretty boy with round phoenix eyes and only by luck scraping by looking like a girly man. Only the strong yaw-line and the high straight nose were giving his face a little bit of character and a softly roughish look.
Letting out a sigh Mo Shin Yun turned away from the mirror. At least he wasn't an ugly haggard man. Though he probably could get used to that too he still was happy to have transmigrated into a body that wasn't ugly. After thinking about it for a bit Mo Shin Yun decided that since he was already in the middle of examining this body, he could take a full look. Within a few seconds, he had stripped completely naked turning to look at the mirror before letting out a slight whistle and started looking down at his body.
He wasn't unhappy with what he got here. Nice lean muscles were covered by white skin making his body look good without looking overly bulky. There wasn't much extra fat anywhere and he looked well taken care of and healthy. After admiring his body for a little longer he finally decided to look at what he had avoided before. This look would decide whether he would like or hate this body. Taking in a deep breath he finally looked. It wasn't too bad. Not exactly what he had hoped for but also not what he had feared. It was probably average-sized.
With one last look in the mirror, he quickly put his cloth back on. There was one more mission he had to fulfil today. Leaving his room, he started walking back the way he had come before together with his senior and the other girl. Right now, he was trying to find the library.
Since he already knew that the library was somewhere within the priest division he first returned to the Hall of Selection and then started his search from there. You would expect a library to be easily found since it probably wasn't a small building but even after looking around for some time Mo Shin Yun still didn't find it. With a frustrated sound, he plopped down where he was standing. "Are you lost?" A voice suddenly sounded above him. Looking up Mo Shin Yun saw a white-robed man standing there looking at him with slight amusement. "Yes. I just became a disciple today and this place is really confusing." He answered quickly getting up. "Where are you trying to go maybe I can help?" The man smiled as he watched Mo Shin Yun get up. "I would really appreciate your help. I am trying to find the library I want to look up something before I have to attend my first classes tomorrow." The man laughed in this typical wise old man way you see on TV turning around to walk down one of the paths.
"Follow me, young man, I will show you how to get to the library." With a relieved smile Mo Shin Yun followed the man. After walking through the priest division for quite some time making left and right turns every few steps and Mo Shin Yun started to get dizzy, they suddenly stopped in the middle of a big empty plaza. It was massive and surrounded by many different buildings. "We are here." The man smiled. "Here?" Mo Shin Yun looked around in confusion. "I don't see a library." He said making the man laugh once more. "Of course, you don't. Follow me." With that, the old man walked towards the side of the plaza into a small ally between two buildings. Turning around to look at Mo Shin Yun he smiled opening a small door in the wall of one of the buildings.
"We are standing on top of the library." The old man said with a mischievous smile. Taking out a small glowing orb the man started leading Mo Shin Yun through the door and down the stairs. "Welcome to the Library of Silence." The man said as they stepped through another door into a brightly lit room. The place was filled with bookshelves. Scrolls, books, stone tablets and even some animal skin manuscripts were everywhere. "Identification." A voice sounded next to them.
Mo Shin Yun turned around suddenly realizing there was someone else in the room with them. The woman was wearing black robes and looked like she had aged elegantly. With hasty hands, Mo Shin Yun felt around his body until his hands closed around a small identification plate he had found when he had inspected his body this morning. With a smile, he handed the nameplate over. The woman looked at it. "You only have access to the first outer layer. Here is your passage token." She handed him his nameplate back and a small jade token. "Please return it before leaving."
With that, the woman turned back to look at a big book laying in front of her. "Well young man since you found what you are looking for, I will go back to my work." The man who had brought Mo Shin Yun here said about to turn away but turning back as if he nearly forgot something. "You should be really careful to stick to the rules young man. That over there is Cho Ma Yong the watchdog of the library she is probably one of the strongest martial artists in this sect." He whispered then with another laugh he disappeared.
Mo Shin Yun swallowed looking over at the woman who was still looking at the book. She really didn't look that strong but what he just heard was probably true. Letting out his breath he walked into the library to start his research. It really wasn't difficult to navigate the place since everything was well organized. After looking around the whole place once he didn't find any entrance to a second floor or second layer or anything like that but since he had already seen most of the things, he wanted to look up were found right here he didn't mind at all. Gathering a few books on the basics of ShuCha and the history and geographics of the country he was in he looked for an empty study table and started reading through those.
He couldn't find much about the history of this world but apparently, a few thousand years ago they had been a great war disturbing the continent and ending what was called the era of the great. Even now deep in the mountains of this continent, artefacts and other things from that era were found. Other than that, it seems that the history books he found mostly concentrated on the western part of the continent. It was about what sect had which leader and how they rose to power and wars between the different sects found in the western part. Most of it, Mo Shin Yun just skipped over leaving it for now since he had no real interest in getting involved in politics or power struggle.
Next, he buried himself in a few geography books those really gave a lot more information than the history books. The continent he was currently on was parted into three sections all separated from each other by long high mountain ranges. The first one was the west where Mo Shin Yun found himself. The other two were the North and the South. The east of the continent was called the beast dwelling and was the heart of the mountain range splitting up the three other parts. Since the different parts were separated by such unpassable mountains inhabiting many dangerous and powerful best there wasn't much cultural exchange between the different parts of the continent. Adding to that was the fact that this continent alone was multiple times bigger than earth. The western region along would probably be able to fit all of Eurasian if it was smashed together into one big mass of land. And still, in this world, the western region was the smallest.
Travelling between the different parts of the continent would take years and most people didn't have the time or the strength to make it through the beast mountains. Even the outskirts of the mountain range were dangerous and only high-mid-level or high-level martial artists would even dare to step foot into the flowing hills which was the part of the outskirts closest to the Shin Yu sect. Other than that, he found not much about the rest of the world since the continent was surrounded by what people called the endless sea and nobody ever crossed it.
After reading up on and looking over maps of the continent he would now call home he let out a deep breath. Carefully taking his time to make sure he wouldn't make any mistakes if he was ever asked about anything related to that he started memorizing the map of the sect and the surrounding areas as best as he could. It really was a lot to learn and for a second he closed his eyes feeling like his brain was overloading with to man new information. For some reason now that he had seen the maps and read about the continent the fact that he really transmigrated was becoming more real. It really was a lot to take in.
"I told you, stay back I do not want to be with you and I already have someone in my heart." The words shook Mo Shin Yun out of his thought. Out of nowhere a young woman in beautiful light pink robes appeared her voice raised as she was talking to someone. Mo Shin Yun couldn't see who she was talking to at first but soon after a young man in expensive white robes inlaid with dark fabrics appeared next to her. "I know you have someone you fancy but we both know your father does not approve of him, after all, he is the second head disciple of the ShuCha division master." The man replied not letting go bothering the girl even more.
The girl sighed turning to face the man. "I told you I do not care for roughish and unrefined martial artists and if my father doesn't understand my wishes, I will still follow my heart." She spoke before turning to the last person who just appeared. "Let's go Lu Jun Yu I have nothing more to do here." Mo Shin Yun looked over to them in confusion only after the girl had spoken to him, did he even spot Lu Jun Yu. Mo Shin Yun wanted to turn his attention away since felt like this wasn't something he should get involved with especially since he already had guessed who the girl was. She was the military division master's daughter who was indulging in a love affair with the second head disciple of the ShuCha master.
