Every human is naked, from now on assume they are until I say otherwise because this is getting tiring.
Groggily I blinked my eyes open, only slightly though. The darkness of the room let me see the outline of the boy from yesterday. His name was Andrew... I think.
"Why..." I was too annoyed at being woken up and tired to finish my question. Doesn't mean I wasn't expecting an answer though.
"Master wants you and your friend! Get up quickly! He is waiting for us in his room. And wake up your friend! I'll get you as much time as I can, I know seeing him can be nerve wracking in the beginning. But please do hurry, if he isn't happy, well... I did vouch for you..." he let the sentence trail off, the weight of what he said evident in the room.
"Fine," I huffed and rolled over to wake Arch up, which wasn't going to be fun. I knew from experience that she was a VERY deep sleeper. I felt a little bad when I put my hand over her mouth, pinching her nose shut, but I knew that it was the only way to wake her up if you didn't have a bucket of ice water.
"What was that for!?" she declared angrily, pushing me away from her.
"Well~" I sang with a smirk. "There's a bi, bad wolf out there waiting for us! So we should probably go before he gets annoyed!"
"And what if I just want to sleep?" she asked, she was always annoyed when she didn't sleep in, after that, the events that occured before our little nap set in. "Okay! Let's go!" she said urgently before kicking the blanket off and dragging me to the door that (I assumed) led to "master." She paused before it. "Ladies first?" she seemed to ask hopefully.
I smiled at her, before putting my hands on the door and pushing it open. The door was a little heavy but nothing I couldn't handle. When we stepped into the room was when Arch seemed to remember that she was naked. She blushed profusely and tried to hide behind me, covering her most private areas.
Idiot turned toward us, "Good to see you awake, come over here." He seemed to have calmed down since yesterday, though that might be due to the fact that Andrew was sitting in his lap, curled into him. We walked over to him.
"Yesterday both of you disobeyed me, do you have anything to say for yourselves?" he asked us, looking into our eyes as if he could see our souls.
"Well, Id- er, whoever you are, we were kidnapped, twice, after being sent here to die, then we-" Andrew sent me a look clearly saying 'Shut up!' so I did. "Nevermind. We have nothing to say!"
"Sure," he drawled, rolling his eyes. "Yesterday I promised you would regret being punished but Andrew here convinced me otherwise. He vouched for you, which means that if you are bad not only you will be punished but so will he. I would strongly recommend not disobeying me because of this." Idiot's eyes narrowed at the end of his little speech as he looked straight into Arch's eyes. She whimpered and ducked even further behind me.
He looked like he was about to say something else but there was a knock on the door. Andrew looked up at Idiot, and when Idiot nodded, he got up, opened the door, took a tray of food from a short girl with freckles and tight blonde curls. He put the tray down on the bed next to Idiot and went to curl up in his arms again. Idiot stroked his back a few times before looking back at me and Arch, "Well, time to make yourselves useful." What did that mean? He looked at us expectantly before elaborating, "I meant feed me."
Arch looked at me hesitantly then at the food. She softly whispered to me, "Should we?"
"I suppose we don't have a choice, do we?" I said at full volume, not even worried about Idiot hearing me. I looked at Arch and saw her hesitance, "We can do this, don't worry, we'll be fine."
She nodded, gulped and stepped forward when I did. Soon we were at the edge of the bed. It was there where I realized there was no way we could reach Idiot without getting on the bed. I cursed underneath my breath and sat down on the edge, Arch following me. We slowly scouched closer to Idiot and I took a piece of what seemed like chicken between my fingers.
"Open up," I said sarcastically. Andrew looked up at Idiot, a little fearful from what I said. Idiot just huffed and opened his mouth, letting me place the chicken inside. Arch followed suit. Soon half of the food on the tray was gone.
"Feed Andrew as well," Idiot commanded, looking smug at having us do what he wanted us to do. Arch and I looked at each other. One nod later I was feeding Andrew from the fruit bowl on the tray and Arch continued feeding Idiot. Once all the food was gone Idiot told us we could eat what was left, then with a smirk added, "Oops! I forgot there's no more! I suppose you'll have to go hungry then!" He sounded way too happy about it. I glared at him, he did this on purpose I knew he did. I gritted my teeth, looked away, and ignored the gnawing in my stomach. We hadn't been fed for days to get us all "docile" and stuff. I could ignore it... but I knew that Arch might not be able to. She can pretend to be unafraid and fine when she needs to but... she isn't. I sneaked a peek at her and saw that what I thought was true. She looked downtrodden.
"But I suppose if you asked nicely... maybe I could get you something~"
I was GOING to refuse but then I remembered Arch, she didn't deserve this. I looked over at her and smiled. No way I would do this if she wasn't here.
"Can we have something to eat... please?" I added the last part to give it a better chance of succeeding.
"Well since you asked so nicely maybe... if you get it yourself. That means finding the kitchen all by yourself. Can your tiny human brain comprehend that?"
Better than yours. Is what I didn't say, instead I nodded. He gave me permission to leave and so I did... to find the kitchen. So I searched, and I searched, and I searched, and I searched, and I searched for a few hours, it seemed. Then, I rounded another corner and ran into... Tom? And he was with the same girl that delivered the food earlier. Who was she?
"Eva? Are you okay? No one has been mean to you? Are the others okay? Where are they?" he bombarded me with questions.
"Yes, No, Maybe, Don't know." Yes, I'm okay... physically. Yes, someone has been mean to me (Idiot.) I only know about the others, well except for Arch. I know where she is and she's okay... physically, just like me.
"Well, at least you're okay, what are you doing here by the way?"
"Idiot said that I could eat... if I found the kitchen. I have been failing miserably so far so... yeah. Here I am."
"The kitchen is on the other side of the tunnels," the girl with Tom said.
"Er, who are you?" I asked, all I knew was that she had delivered the food we weren't allowed to eat this morning. Was it morning? After we woke up I suppose.
"Ah! Yeah, so Eva this is Thalia, Thalia this is Eva."
"Nice to meat you," Thalia chirped.
"Likewise..."
"Oh! And I can show you to the kitchen if you want!" She seemed WAY over the top.
"...Thanks..."
"Great! Then let's go!" She grabbed both me and Tom before pulling us through the halls, and after a good 30 minutes, to a set of doors that led to the kitchen.
"Thalia! Back already? And I see you've brought another friend!" a boy huffed, his expression showed exasperation but his voice was affectionate.
"Yeah, so this is Eva. Got any good food ready to go?"
"Not at the moment, well not for you at least, but you're free to use the kitchen as long as you wash your hands."
"Great! Thanks!" she smiled and dragged us toward one of the multiple stoves. 'How do pancakes sound?"
"Perfect."
"Any flavor preferences?"
"Blueberry."
And so she set off to do her task, she measured eggs, milk, flour, blueberries, and sugar into a bowl before pouring the batter onto a pan. She flipped each and every pancake perfectly. When she was done she played them and handed them to me. The stack was huge, certainly enough for both me and Arch. She then grabbed some maple syrup and even more blueberries before marching out of the kitchen, expecting us to follow, and, well, we did. Once we passed a certain hallway Tom looked a bit uncomfortable and said something about having to leave. Thalia and I moved on toward Idiot's room.
"Well, here we are!" she sang, handing the maple syrup and blueberries over to me. "Enjoy!"
"Thank you," I tried to tell her but she was already gone. I took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
"You were gone for a few hours, I was starting to wonder if you'd tried to run away," Idiot comments when he saw me. Arch was curled up in a corner with an animal pelt for warmth while Andy made himself at home next to Idiot.
"Yeah, well, it's not my fault this place is a maze," I huffed turning toward Arch. She looked up as I approached. I could tell that she had been crying over something, but I wasn't quite sure what. I sat down next to her.
"Hungry?" I asked, offering her the pancakes. She was about to dig in when Idiot's voice rang out through the room:
"That's not the proper way to eat. My rules state that no human under my care will feed themselves, so Arch, I would suggest you don't even try."
Arch looked at me so I took the fork and started to feed her. Again Idiot interjected:
"Boring! Here, I'll help you, Andy go over there and show them how it's done!" he commanded.
Andy got up and walked toward us. "Sorry," he whispered before taking the fork from my hand. He then proceeded to pull Arch onto his lap and hand fed her.
"Andy, I thought you could come up with something more entertaining than this! This is BORING! Entertain me!" Idiot complained, sounding very much the part of a spoiled child.
"I'm sorry master but they're new, I didn't want to push them," he said to Idiot, while sporting a very convincing pout.
"Fine, I'll let it slide this time but next time I won't be as merciful," Idiot made his words sound like he was being merciful by doing what he has done to us.
"I understand, master," Andy said and returned to feeding Arch. Eventually he turned to me and started to feed me as well.
Half way through the plate Idiot spoke yet again. "That's enough, pay attention to me now!"
"Yes master," Andy said obediently. He then led us over to Idiot, despite my protests, and told us to just lie beside him, making sure to have as much of our skin touching him as possible.
"I Don't WANT to!" I complained but Arch pulled me down next to Idiot.
"Please," she whispered. "H-he's scary..."
"At least one of you is reasonable," Idiot huffed. "Less chit-chat. More paying attention to me!"
Andy went and sat beside Idiot, slowly, methodically massaging him, relaxing all of his stiff muscles. Idiot sighed and before long had an arm around both me and Arch, Andy squished in the middle.
"Sleep," he murmured to no one in particular, and after an hour or so of trying to wiggle out of his grasp (and failing miserably I might add) I did.
