It's an owl. Ruffulze is just a straight up owl. Why? Because owls are cool.
For a little while, I would incorporate user suggestions into the story. This was one of them, submitted by Alien on MSPFA. But after a while, I had worked out the general story, and realized that user suggestions would more likely serve as distractions. Kind of like early Homestuck vs. late Homestuck.
Unlike Homestuck, however, I didn't get very many suggestions to begin with. :^(
