Never before in my life did I ever struggle like this. Like a fish in a net or like a bear in a trap, I thrusted, thrashed, and lunged in every direction. Hector was getting closer and closer. Brett and Avery kept me pinned down to the chair. As a last resort I kicked legs in the air in hopes of knocking Hector away with them. No use; Principal Van Dooren darted towards me and stuck my legs down to the floor. I felt hopeless; it was as though my limbs were latched down with dry cement! I couldn’t move no matter how hard I tried.
Hector was inches from my nose and finally, my breath was running out, my muscles were exhausted, I just couldn’t move any more. My instincts were gone; I just closed my eyes and prepared myself for a life of servitude to my least favorite person.
The rubber controller quickly and smoothly latched onto my skin. I held my breath, relaxed my palms, and let my mind go blank. It felt like time came to a stop, I just wanted to keep my eyes closed so I could be in my own personal darkness for a little while longer.
A few seconds felt like a few minutes. I felt the grips of Brett, Avery, and Principal Van Dooren release from my limbs and finally, I was free. I opened my eyes and looked around swiftly. My vision was a bit blurry, but quickly focused onto the large, bulky body of Hector Markowski.
“Arise, my tiny, pathetic, stupid servant!” he commanded me.
I slowly stood up from the chair and it was at that moment, I made about the most crucial observation I had ever made in the 12 years I’ve been on Earth: I stood on my own will. I twitched my fingers on my own will and they did!
“Your first duty: kneel down and kiss my shoe,” Hector continued.
I did no such thing. Instead, I held my hand right in front of me and gave Hector the mighty shove he deserved! He flew so hard back that he tipped over Principal Van Dooren’s desk! Papers exploded from the drawers and the room was filled with papers floating everywhere.
That was my moment; I dashed to the door and ran! Past A Hall, past the front office, past the front door, past the bus stops. I just kept running and running. Before I could even realize it, I was already at the market street.
