Sol stared out of the clear metal that made up Cadence's roof. They were in the observation area. The room had been fashioned into a luxurious working space - a large couch that currently seated Sol and his Master - placed in the center of the room, allowing occupants a view that scientists of Earth would have killed for. Well, in a way, they had. They had died for the defeat of Earth and thus the gifting of this ship.
Sol winced, turning away from the view as a warm glow of a star beamed on them. Due to the mysterious alien craft, the light did not burn, despite its undiluted heat. Shutting his eyes, Sol gave into his cat instincts, bathing in the warmth with a soft purr that filled the silent room. His Master's hand rubbed his belly, and in that moment, everything was pure bliss. Through slit eyes, he observed his Master, delighting in the way the light made the man's eyes seem like golden pools of molten lava. It was a moment that Sol wished would never pass, but as all good things do, the star's light disappeared as Cadence glided swiftly past a planet.
Sol blinked, wondering for a second if that planet was one of Earth's few sub-planets, or maybe it was the sub-planet of another species.
Sub-planet's were planets underneath the rule of another greater planet. Although Earth lost the war, it did not lose its status as a greater planet. Retaining the status was a sign of respect to the planet, no matter its inhabitant.
Sol hummed in thought, eyes closing slowly. He decided to drop the matter, the planet having passed, Sol losing the opportunity to satisfy his curiosity. Suddenly, his Master stood, lifting Sol with him, walking forward until he was met with the glass-like metal.
"Look, Sol," Using one hand, he moved Sol's head to look out the wall, directing his sight to the giant planet that loomed in the near distance, "That is the Black Planet."
The planet was three times as large as Earth, and true to its name, the surface was black, littered with specs of orange-yellow lights. Tendrils of black substance wafted from the planet, enveloping near by objects in complete darkness. Yes, the nature of the Black Planet was exactly as its name suggested. Even its inhabitants were reflected in its simple name. The residents specialized in Black Trade, creating dark, unorthodox items, processes, practices. They were the creators of the Slave Auctions, and despite their evil nature, never did they experience any difficulties.
Not a soul tried to stop them, since, after all there was no one who didn't benefit from them. This is how they survived in a world of predators; by selling out anyone they believed could get them a profit. All slaves came to the black planet to be distributed into its markets on other planets, only the rarest, most expensive slaves remained on the black planet. Those slaves were sold at the Black Auction, and if they were to be compared in hierarchy, those sold at the Black Auction were royalty. This is where Sol would have been sold if he hadn't somehow been allowed to stay with his Master.
He shivered, turning away to push his face forcefully into his Masters neck. He nibbled anxiously at the muscle there.
Surely his Master wouldn't leave him here.
Sol's sharp teeth pricked like needles against his Master's skin, unintentionally drawing dots of blood. At the familiar, sweet taste, Sol pulled away, snapping out of his anxiety, whimpering at the light bite mark that he had left on his Master's bronze skin. A hand, warm and comforting, caressed his silver hair, smoothing it down with the action.
"What's wrong?" His Master murmmered, pressing a kiss to Sol's forehead.
Sol looked into his gold eyes, lavender eyes watery.
"I'm scared." He whispered, leaning down to gently lap away the blood that welled from his Masters injury.
Silently, his Master stroked Sol's back, tracing each vertebrae with long, elegant fingers, reassuring his pet. Sol nestled his head back into the crook of his Master's neck, brushing a kiss lightly against the wound he caused as he did so. They stayed that way, even as the Black Planet loomed before them, casting them in a black light. His Master lifted Sol's head from its place, placing a loving kiss on Sol's lips. Sol purred into the kiss, the sound reassuring them both as they deepened the kiss, entwining their tongues in a perfect balance of submission and dominance. In this moment, everything was serene, a brief feeling of euphoria wrapping itself around Master and pet.
Perhaps, the last moment of euphoria that they were to feel for a long, long time to come.
