Prologue: 10 years prior

"Run!"

A woman screamed at her son, her eyes frantic, her body holding a violent man away from her child.

"Mama-"

"Run!"

Her son ran, from his house and onto the streets. His effort was in vain, several more men, clad in black suits, blocked his escape. They grabbed him, slamming him into the ground with more brute force necessary to subdue a normal seven year-old.

"We got him!"

They wrestled him into submission, his hands were yanked to the back and cuffed. He writhed in protest and then electricity and pain coursed through him and blackness grasped his consciousness and dragged him under.
