Amalia sighed softly as she slowly shook her head, from what Caelyn
had told her, that day marked roughly around three weeks since Caelyn
had traversed the distance between the town of Alfeon, meaning they
likely had around another week or so before the corruption of the Void
Crystal reached a village, or worse. A heavily populated city. That is
of course, if it didn't slow down and the rate had stayed the same.
If
it had slowed down or even stopped, that would be a good thing.
However, it was rare for people to be that lucky when it came to dealing with Void Crystals, let alone Abyssal magic in general. From her studies, the young princess knew for a fact, that Abyssal magic, out of all of the many types of magic out there, The Abyss was the most difficult magic to get a handle on, and thus was rightfully feared.
Because of this, the young princess was stressing over the situation more than she had expected to. This, of course, had, among other things, affected her sleep, causing her to have gotten very little in the way of sleep the past few days. It, of course, did not help that she was also having a strange nightmare every night the past couple of days.
Despite her worrying over this strange turn of events, it seemed that her two companions seemed to differ in ideas on how to handle and prepare for the on-coming subjugation. As usual, at least in Amalia's mind, the Dark Elf Caelyn seemed to be stoic in behavior, as if things around her had already bored her.
The Wolven Beastwoman A'ari on the other hand seemed to be reacting to the idea of going in to Subjugate a Void Crystal, and thusly would be dealing with Abyssal Magic, by being an inscrutable flirt with any girl that passed by her, almost as if such a thing was second nature to the beast-woman.
While normally, this kind of behavior was something Amalia would ignore, she was unable to this time, as the beast-woman also flirted with her, something that the princess was as of yet, not used to. As she was used to being the pro-active one in such situations.
Having just gone over a battle plan once again, with everyone there. The young princess grumbled a bit as she watched A'ari head off once again, visibly flirting with people as she left the Guildhall. Shaking her head a bit, the princess sighed softly. "I see why Cae doesn't like her..." She mumbled a bit under her breath, her arms crossed over her chest as she stood there, watching the wolf leave the hall until she was no longer in sight. "There's a time and a place for flirting... This... isn't it." She added, glancing at the map that was on the table, as she spotted Caelyn discussing something with the Guild Master.
Meanwhile, outside the guildhall A'ari sighed softly as well, smirking a bit to herself, the young wolf beast woman looked at her hand a bit, visibly shaking as she stood leaning against the side of the building. "It's okay... You... you can do this." She said softly to herself, as she shuffled once more, "This... This isn't like last time, you'll... you can hide it better this time. No one will find out..." She continued mumbling to herself, as she shuffled.
Sighing softly, A'ari slowly moved, stretching a bit, she slapped her cheek a bit, as if to wake herself up, before she slowly turned, heading off to the market district, both to check up on her equipment, and to get something to eat, to calm herself down.
Stretching lightly as she moved, popping her back a bit as she did so, the beast-woman smiled softly as she moved over to head out into the town, something she hadn't done much of the past couple of weeks since she had been in deliberation with the other two. Mostly to deal with the issue of the Subjugation of the Void Crystal, since she knew that an unchecked one, could easily be a devastating thing to deal with.
Especially given these days, when most Adventurers had yet to have any experience with them, and only knew of them from stories of previous generations.
A'ari smiled softly as she reached the market, smirking softly as she did so. Glancing around, the young beast-woman rubbed the back of her neck, as she wondered what all she wanted to do there that day. A small tattoo of the number 15 hidden there by her hair and clothes. Something she kept hidden from everyone.
Caelyn had seen the mark on her neck some time ago, back when the two of them were members of the same Adventuring Party, which had long since been called "The Six" by people who knew of their exploits. That was, of course, also around the time she first started having her panic attacks, which began shortly after the first time their group had dealt with Abyssal magic, something the two of them agreed to keep a secret.
While at the time, A'ari did not go into details on what the mark on her neck meant, she did know that Caelyn was far too inquisitive to have not looked into it. Meaning she probably knew already what it meant, and was likely why the dark elf kept on insisting about the Void Crystal Subjugation to the beast-woman.
While this would have deterred many others into acting, A'ari felt some strange sense of obligation to help. She didn't understand it, nor did she care, she just knew that some part of her felt obligated to help the Princess with her tasks. Whether it was Subjugating a Void Crystal, searching for some unknown artifact, or any other thing that might pop up in the future.
A'ari would be there to help the young princess, no matter what it was.
