So, I recently was informed that getting the biggoron sword to defeat Dark Link was a completely out-of-the-way route and that I could’ve just used the megaton hammer.

I find it interesting how so many people have trouble with Dark Link! I count myself lucky that I haven't ever had issues with it. You can actually kill him in a normal fight with some Z-targeting and kiting skills. :D
