"Did you hear?" One of them right away pulled him along as they started gossiping. "The sect opened up the last expedition places to us. If we are lucky and we find a master who is willing to put in a word for us we might be able to go along." Ma Lin Ha right away grabbed everyone's attention. He was probably the biggest gossip source amongst the disciples. It was really no wonder he and Wang Ha Yon were close friends since they both loved gossip and always had any news before anyone else had them.
"I really want to go to on the expedition. They say that in the flowing hills a lot of old sages had their caves and if you are lucky you might even find legendary recipes or other useful utensils. Until now there are still a lot of legendary knives missing." They all started dreaming about the expedition. "I think they have a level limit on who can enter because it is so dangerous." Ma Lin Ha added crushing everyone's dream. "Say that earlier." Someone complained.
"Hey don't blame me I was about to tell you all about it but then you interrupted me with dreaming about legendary knives." Ma Lin Ha rolled his eyes at the other before continuing his gossip. "They said that you have to be at least an orange level if you are a priest or a ShuCha practitioner or a Sky level if you are a martial art practitioner because the flowing hills are a really dangerous area. Further, I heard that Lu Jun Yu will lead the martial arts division they haven't decided on who will take lead for the ShuCha division yet but it seems either one of the head disciples will go."
Everyone sighed as they listened. "Then we can't go at all? I just advanced to a red level how am I supposed to get to orange?" One of them with a fire soul element sighed in resignation. "You might have a chance the expedition is in a few months if you are lucky you can advance before that." One of the others teased the boy since it was obvious that he was bragging about advancing so quickly while acting like he was complaining. As they were laughing, they finally reached the kitchen.
Since Mo Shin Yun had no interest in the expedition seeing that he would probably not be able to even advance to the red level before the expedition he didn't pay it much attention aside from the information Ma Lin Ha was giving them every morning about who was using what connection to get a spot and who was probably to get one and who wasn't. Somehow it reminded Mo Shin Yun of the end of the year award ceremonies back in his old life every year around November people would start doing the same guessing and exchanging of information about who would get what award.
But other than that, he really didn't pay it any mind. Right now, he was more concerned about the discolouring on his arm. It didn't subside and instead followed up his vein leaving a pattern on his body. Since it was now clear that it wasn't just an effect from some food, he took today off from work to visit the hospital pavilion. To his surprise, his name was called out as soon as he entered. Looking around he spotted Wang Ha Yon with a big smile she came over. "What brings you here did you get cut during classes?" She asked playfully as she led him to one of the chairs so he could take a seat and show her his wounds.
"No, I didn't get cut." He answered laughing as he sat down. "I have some weird colouring on my arm." She nodded listening to him telling her about what lead him here. "Then let me see." She for once was looking serious. The little laugh always in the corner of his eyes disappeared and made place for a serious, stern expression. Mo Shin Yun smiled seeing her like that. Until now he had always seen her outside of the pavilion and it was refreshing to see her being serious instead of gossiping on and on about others.
He carefully pulled up the sleeve of his robe exposing the arm and the coloured veins. "How long has it been like this?" Wang Ha Yon asked. "Not more than two or three days. At first, I thought it was a reaction to some ingredients we looked over in class but since it's still there I'm not so sure about that anymore." Mo Shin Yun explained while watching the girl examining the arm carefully. At first, he couldn't feel it but soon he felt her soul energy moving over his arm as she was getting a better picture of what was happening.
"This is not a food reaction you are right but I'm not really sure what it is I might need to draw some blood and try some tests." She said still looking at his arms with her soul energy. "Do what you have to it is starting to worry me." Mo Shin Yun replied. With his consent, Wang Ha Yon took out a little knife carefully making a small incision in his arm extracting some of the blood from the coloured vein. The blood itself was still red but it had a soft hue to it in the same colour as the veins it was a sickly orange-green.
"This should be it for now I will give this to one of the priests to analyse it and will get back to you with the results. For now, I will give you some spiritual pills to slow down your blood circulation and help to build up an immunity against whatever this is." She closed the small bottle of blood as she got up getting some pills from the medication cabinet. "It really was nice to see you again but I think I should rush this one a little I see you later." Wang Ha Yon bid her goodbye quickly with the bottle in her hand she disappeared deeper into the hospital pavilion.
Mo Shin Yun shook his head laughing as he watched her leave. Then he turned to leave himself since he had already taken the day off, he finally had some time to himself. At first, he wanted to go to the library to get some new books but then decided against it since there was something else, he needed to do but hadn't until now. Stepping into his room he looked around letting out a sigh. He really needed to clean up this place over the time papers and books had ended up everywhere, scrolls were covering the floor and even the walls were covered in different papers filled with notes.
Spending the rest of the morning cleaning up he fell on his bed exhausted around noon but now the room at least looked well organized again. Mo Shin Yun didn't even realize he had fallen asleep only after a loud knock shook him awake did, he realize it was hours later. "Mo Shin Yun are you there? Ma Lin Ha said you are in." Wang Ha Yon's voice sounded from outside. Quickly getting up Mo Shin Yun opened the door. Still a little confused from being woken up he just looked at the girl. "You have to come with me." She didn't even give him time to reply and just pulled him along to the hospital pavilion.
"What's wrong?" After finally being set down in a chair in front of some white-robed elder Mo Shin Yun regained his composer. He was still confused about why he was dragged back to the hospital pavilion. "It's bad." Wang Ha Yon said earning herself a stern look from the old man. She right away shut up sitting down to the side looking like a scolded puppy. "Could I see your arm?" The old man asked as turned his attention to Mo Shin Yun. Without complaint, he just pulled up his sleeves exposing his discoloured arm. The elder took the arm in his hands and soon after Mo Shin Yun could feel his soul energy flowing over it. "This is elder Yan. I gave your blood to my master and he consulted elder Yan after having trouble understanding what was happening."
Wang Ha Yon started explaining making Mo Shin Yun finally draw the connection between everything that happened. This was probably really bad. If they needed the help of an elder to understand his illness it might not even be easy to cure. "I need to draw some fresh blood." The elder spoke and Mo Shin Yun just nodded in agreement. Next to them, Wang Ha Yon stood up getting a small knife and a bowl. She made a small incision next to the one she made this morning letting the blood drip into the bowl. "That's enough." The elder spoke and Wang Ha Yon closed the wound back up with some gauze and handed the bowl to the elder.
Mo Shin Yun could feel the energy emitted from the elder. He had heard that this man was not only an indigo-coloured soul but had also reached indigo level. As far as Mo Shin Yun knew in the whole east lands there were only a few priests who reached the indigo level even less than ten people. But even without knowing that the energy emitted by the elder really was different.
After examining the blood for a long time, he finally looked up. "I never thought I would see something like this especially not in such a young person." He spoke more to himself than anyone else making both Wang Ha Yon and Mo Shin Yun lean in curious to hear more. "What is it?" Wang Ha Yon finally asked unable to contain her curiosity. Elder Yan looked at her as if he woke up from his thoughts. "Yes right... this." He looked at the blood. "This is probably cultivation poisoning. It is a legendary sickness I have never seen myself but it has to be." Mo Shin Yun and Wang Ha Yon exchanged a look of confusion as the old man spoke.
"Cultivation poisoning?" Mo Shin Yun asked. "Yes, Yes." The elder was constantly in thoughts only answering with a delay and always looking like he wasn't really paying attention to them. "Elder Yan, could you please explain my condition?" Mo Shin Yun asked again finally getting the others attention. "You know what Qi deprivation is right? In the folk mouth, people call it cultivation poisoning but that isn't exactly right." The elder let out a deep sigh before he put away the bowl looking at Mo Shin Yun's arm again.
"The thing is that even in the ancient times before the great war cultivation poisoning was nothing more than a legend. It is mentioned in a few old texts but even back then it wasn't common. Some even thought it was just a miss diagnosis since in ancient times they didn't pay as much attention to medicine everything was healed with one of the legendary pills or something else similar. But there are a few texts mentioning cultivation poisoning. It is said to cause discoloured veins and the blood to glow with a dirty hue. In those texts, it is mentioned that only old master would conduct this illness."
The elder stopped talking as if he tried to remember something. "Stay here I will get my research on the illness then we can discuss this further." With that, he got up walking away. Mo Shin Yun was still sitting there in confusion and worry. This really didn't sound good would he die this quickly after just transmigrating into this body a few months ago? He really felt like faith was playing a cruel joke on him. First, he died young then he was thrown into this other world and now that he finally got used to this world and figured out how this world worked, he was going to die again.
"Don't worry we don't know anything yet. It could be that you can survive this. If this was a death sentence elder Yan would have reacted differently. He might not look like it but he is a really amazing priest and has good bedside manner." Wang Ha Yon tried to calm Mo Shin Yun down. The other just nodded still worrying. At that point, they were both ripped out of their worries by the door opening. For some reason, Mo Shin Yun really felt like he was having a Deja-vu.
Lu Jun Yu walked in followed by two disciples holding up a third. "What happened?" Wang Ha Yon rushed over to see how badly the disciple was wounded. "They overdid it with their cultivation because they want to get one of the expedition spots. It's not too bad but he passed out during practice so I have to bring him here to make sure there aren't any permanent problems." Lu Jun Yu explained shortly. Wang Ha Yon nodded leading the disciples to put the unconscious disciple on the bed giving him a quick exam. "I will take a look at him and make sure he is ok." She informed Lu Jun Yu shortly before finally giving the boy on the bed her whole attention.
