The cab stopped in front of the mansion, despite being on a security campus the mansion was quite luxurious and was decorated with vintage guns and victorian era's furniture. Akari was taken to the waiting room and asked to wait for Mr Miller (Emily's father). The aide asked her whether she would like to have anything for refreshment and left when Akari said no. The waiting room had numerous trophies and pictures capturing the similar triumphant in the frames, as Akari was glancing around waiting room's door was opened and a gentleman dressed in 3 piece suit came in, he was giving the vibes like he just walked out of a board meeting. He gestured Akari to sit and Akari followed taking the clue from the same.
Mr Miller: " I have been told that you are an acquaintance of my daughter and came here to meet with her"
Akari mentally noted that the man doesn't beat around the bush and it would be useless to lie to him, he will see right through it, after contemplating on it she replied " Mr Miller, unfortunately, I did not know Emily, I came here on the behalf of Jess, she is a very close friend of your daughter's and is worried about her"
Mr Miller: " yes, I remember that girl, always diving her nose in Emily's business."
Akari sensed some hostility in his tone against Jess and decided to pursue this further and said him " I agree with you on that, Jess certainly is very nosey but in this case, I think her behaviour is justified, it is indeed suspicious that Emily just dropped her classes and life and vanished without telling her best friend and no one is doing anything about it. There is not a single police complaint and you seem to have no care about it too. You either know where she is or it does not matter to you."
Mr Miller's calm demeanour changed and he became agitated. He lost his cool and almost yelled at Akari" do you think you can just come to my home and talk to me like this. Keep in mind who I am and where you are, or is it that the private investigators are so disillusioned that they think that they can snoop around others dwelling or life and get away with it. I know what is best for my children and I would not have my child being corrupted, she got distracted but I will make sure she finds her way again. She is fine and will not be returning to that university again. You can leave now."
Akari:" I see that the cat is out of the box, since you already know who I am there is no need for me to blunt my words. You see Emily is an adult and you cannot force your will on her, whoever you think you are. I do not think that this is her decision, if it's her then she would not just disappear into thin air. I will keep looking and will find out the truth."
Mr Miller:" Do you have any idea to whom you are giving threats? , just get out of here before I have you thrown out of campus girl. And if I saw you again either here or near Church I will have you sent to prison, remember that."
Akari quickly left the mansion and hopped into the cab and asked the driver to leave campus as soon as possible, after talking with Mr Miller she had no doubt that he had some part in Emily's disappearance. She was also surprised that Mr Miller knows about her and her visit to the Church, why would a senior officer of one of the biggest security firm know about her and do surveillance on a church. The more she thinks about it the more sense it makes, that somehow Church plays a major role in what's being going around here. The sun was on the verge of saying goodbye and was emitting its residual warmth before leaving. Akari asked the driver to take her to the church and sat silently watching the sun.
By the time she reached the Church, the sun was replaced with a silently gazing moon who let the cold bitter wind run untamed that hugged Akari as soon as she left the cab. The church was quiet this time, very few people were present, Akari found it easy to slip away and walk towards the library as soon as she reached the library she made sure no one was around and went to the same spot where she found no cameras in the morning. She reached there and started carefully looking, she glances over and found a vintage pistol framed in a glass case on the middle shelf kept between the books. She found it unusual, who keeps pistol with books and that too in a church and suddenly she remembered about Miller mansion, she tried to lift the case up, but it was attached to the bookshelf. Akari ran her hand around it trying to find the handle but could not find so, just as she was about to leave it she saw a Letter 'M' inscribed on an oval shape near the bottom of the case, she pressed it and immediately heard a door click. Akari quietly put the door back in its place without locking it and went into the secret room. Her heart rate was increasing with each step and every fibre in her body was asking her to turn back and come again with some safety but she knew that this opportunity would not present itself again and however dangerous this task may be it has to be done in order to solve this case, with this she decided to move further ahead.
