Often there is no difference between pretending to be in a certain eay or being if the outcomrs are the same. And Joel has managed to master his insecurities by aid of his logic and intellect, and now he can interact in ways he wouldn't have imagined possible! Is it more difficult for him to interact on a personal level, still? Because the verbal jousts aren't the best way to express the rest of your personality, other than opinions on certain topics.

Either way, it's impressive how far he's come.
