~I want to tell a story.

~Tee-hee~♥

~Maybe it doesn’t make sense, but I’m hoping telling it will help me remember. I can’t seem to remember anything at the moment. Well, not quite nothing, so I’m going to tell a story now.~

White painted walls.
Lattice framework.
A domed window over canopy bed.
A small planet perpetually blocking the sun.
An unnatural eclipse.
A red ring beyond it.
Three fifths of it a cogwheel.
A matching one around a red star in place of the blue left iris.

With a blink, the pink hedgehog girl’s irises were both once again blue and normally shaped. She pulled a hand free from beneath the covers she lay under in the canopy bed. Resting it on her forehead, she stared up at the malicious small planet in the sky above her.

~My name is Amy Rose. I prefer going by my nickname though. Rosy the Rascal. I don’t really remember why though.

~What do I remember? Hee-hee~♥ I remember I once went to a planet a lot like the one I’m looking at now. Something about a destined encounter. It’s where I met Sonic the Hedgehog! World famous adventurer and my hero and boyfriend!

~…

~I think I got in trouble and he had to rescue me. We had so many adventures, I’m sure of it. But nothing is coming up. It’s all like something I should know, but simply don’t remember. I really don’t remember anything…~

Tilting her head, Rosy felt the pillow under her head pull on her spines as they caught the soft fabric. Shifting, she could feel her back spines catch the sheets as well.

“Oops,” she laughed and stuck out her tongue. “Beds are so nice, but my spines always ruin them. I hope I don’t damage the bedding…”

Rosy trailed off a moment before suddenly puffing up her cheeks. “Well, this sucks! I can’t even remember if I should recognize this view. Do I live here or am I in someone else’s home? Ooh~! If only there was a clue!”

As if on cue, the gray sole of a very familiar red shoe stepped onto the domed window above her. Blushing as she watched Sonic fully step into view, she smiled as she marveled at his silhouette, defying the small planet in the sky.

“Ooh~! He’s so dreamy and cool!

“Soni~c!”

Calling out to him with a wave, Rosy surprised Sonic, the expression fleeing from his face as he looked down at her in response to her voice. A moment later he lifted a panel of the latticed window and jumped down into the room. “Well, look who finally decided to wake up.”

Sonic’s smirk won Rosy over in an instant and she buried herself under the covers to compose herself. Sonic rested a hand on his hip before taking a seat on the edge of the bed and poked at the hidden hedgehog.

“Stop that Sonic!” Rosy squealed with laughter before she sat up, only her head popping out from under the covers she pulled tightly around herself. “I don’t know why, but I’m feeling so embarrassed right now. Ooh~! It’s so frustrating! It’s obvious I’m on an adventure with you, so why I am so flustered?”

“Obvious?” Sonic questioned, skewing his eyes in question as he studied the pink hedgehog whose spines were in total disarray.

“Eep!” Rosy squeaked, feeling like she said something she shouldn’t have.

“You okay, Amy?”

“Rosy!”

The correction earned a fresh smirk from Sonic and Rosy felt slightly relieved.

“Well, you’re feisty at least,” Sonic laughed.

“I feel okay,” Rosy agreed,” but…”

“But what?”

“Well, um…,” Rosy struggled to come up with a way to explain as she hid her mouth.

“If there’s something wrong just tell me,” Sonic assured her it was alright to tell him with a laugh. “After all, I bet waking up in a strange bed has you feeling a little confused as it is.”

“So, it’s not mine,” Rosy acknowledged quietly, but Sonic’s twitching ear told her she did not go unheard. Blushing in embarrassment all over again, she smiled brightly for Sonic. “Why does it I feel like I’m upsetting you, Sonic?”

“Only if you don’t tell me what’s wrong,” Sonic offered Rosy the chance to explain. “I know carrying you all over the place couldn’t have been good for you with you unconscious like that…”

“You’ve been carrying me!” Rosy’s eyes lit up at the thought and Sonic could have sworn her eyes became like hearts as he recoiled from her surge of energy. Naturally, Rosy puffed up her cheeks not appreciating Sonic’s reaction. “If you’ve been carrying me everywhere no reason to run away now. Hmph!”

“You sure something’s wrong?” Sonic pressed, seeming amused by Rosy’s display, even as he mostly kept his distance. “You seem pretty normal to me.”

~I couldn’t just leave Sonic thinking I was fine, but I guess it’s the nature of how easy it is for me to stay upbeat. And it’s not like I forgot the two of us. Talking with Sonic like this is so natural. The way he runs away from my teasing but doesn’t cut me off. I feel like it’s been so long, and I feel so nostalgic. But…

~Sonic deserves to know the truth. And it’s not like me to lie. Yet… I think it hurts him as I tell Sonic and he looks away, his demeanor growing unreadable. Does he believe me? I know he wouldn’t think I’m lying. It’d be wrong to get Sonic to worry over me anyway. So, is he hurt instead? I can’t remember any of them, but I know Sonic will always look out for his friends. But memory loss... He can’t do anything about that, right?

~Still, Sonic doesn’t give up, and he flashes me such a reassuring smile and thumbs up.~

“Well, I guess that shouldn’t surprise me here in the Far Lands.”

“The Far Lands?”

~Sonic didn’t answer, instead he told me we’d talk about it later. Apparently, we’re at the start of quite the adventure so I need to get ready.

~As I watch Sonic leave, the cutest leotard with puffy princess sleeves and the prettiest white color comes into view hanging from the back of the door. I don’t know if there’s anything else to wear in here, but I bet I’d look really cute to Sonic wearing it~♥

~Pulling the leotard on, it’s snug fit is like being hugged all over by a dear friend. Tee-hee~♥ It feels so good and comforting! I hope Sonic likes it! After all. If we’re on an adventure together he’s going to be seeing a lot of me and I want to look my best for him!

~Hee-hee! Though winning Sonic’s heart is going to take a lot more than looking cute! And I have to make sure I never give him a reason to worry about me for losing my memories. I have to win his heart by just being me. I’m sure I already have. I feel this golden warmth in my chest, and I just know it’s Sonic.

~Right! I guess the only thing to do is prove to Sonic that I already won his heart. Boys can be so stubborn, but I won’t lose! Just you wait Sonic! You’re going to discover you love me just as much as this adventure, and so much more! Let’s go, Rosy~!~
