I was walking down the street to my new house, and then this weird white stuff that I think is called snow started to fall. Lights were strung around these interesting trees I think they are pine or evergreen. I stood in the middle of the street staring at the lights hanging on the houses and the tree. Inside I saw socks hanging on the fireplace, were they drying them? To me, that is weird and very odd. Then I saw a tree inside with lights, these things with pictures or shapes, a star on top, and candy canes. What do these people do with their lives?? I looked around the empty street and saw a man walking nearby, so I walked up to him and asked about the trees, lights, weird pictures and shapes, the star, candy canes, and the lights.</p><p>He then told me, “This is Christmas! Those weird shapes and pictures on the trees inside the houses are ornaments, the star is to add a little bling to the tree. The trees inside are for when Santa comes down the chimney and puts presents under them. The candy canes remind me of snow, but that is just my opinion. The lights are to light Santa's way to the houses of all the good little girls and boys, but also for the good moms, dads, women, and men.”</p><p>I stared at him like he was crazy for a second letting it all sink in, then I realized something… I’m in love with a holiday. I waved goodbye to the man and walked to my new house starting to unpack I set up lights around the tree outside, hang socks (stockings) on the fireplace, set up a tree inside that was delivered to me as a welcome gift. Then I was ready for the holidays as the man called it.
