In the blink of an eye, the school year was almost done. I know this is supposed to be me talking about you. But I did have other friends besides you. I became best friends with this sweet, child-like girl who had too much energy. She liked to play sports as well, and she also so happened to have a crush on you. I bet you're wondering: Why did I befriend her if she was a possible love rival? Truth be told, I never knew that she liked you until she confessed to me. I wasn't very surprised, since half of the girls in our grade liked you too. And you didn't seem to really like her all that much. So when she confessed, I didn't feel all that threatened. That's pretty childish and petty of me, isn't it. Because you expressed no interest in her, I didn't see her as a "threat." Yeah, that is extremely petty. But I'm only human, right?

Our friendship didn't last the year, though. For whatever reason, we drifted apart. I think I just couldn't handle her energy and had to step away to keep me from going insane. Okay, maybe I DO know the reason why we drifted apart. But it had nothing to do with you, so don't get all egotistical.

We also had a game and movie night for kids with the same elective today. You promised that you'd be there. So you can imagine how long I waited. I sat near the door so I could see down the hall if you were coming or not.

Pfft! Did you really think I missed you THAT much? Don't be surprised. My life doesn't revolve around you. Sure, I'm not as happy when you're not around, but I'll survive. Yeah, I'd be fine without you...

Fuck, who am I kidding?
