Seriously, though: This is why you mustn't watch trailers. When I played ME 2, I hadn't seen the trailer so when it started I was seriously left with a "What the hell just happened?" It was a wonderful experience.
It's also a very clever way to allow you to rejig your character and allow you to make them look different whilst staying in continuity. Bioware really had a lot of clever ideas back in the day. Now, if only they could manage their company just as well.
Oh, the disappointingly painful things I have to say about that company from a business management perspective. Come on, guys - do better. This goodwill won't last forever.
