The flight back was silent. Rose’s mind was filled with thoughts regarding the little hatchling. Where will it sleep, how soon will the hatchling be better, how would she be able to continue her research while taking care of her?

Her research then flooded her mind.

“Ift?”
“Yes, little human of flowers?”

“Bilmont gave me an assignment, I have to find something that I did not previously know about Aki and Ati, do you have anything that I might not know?”

Ift was silent for a little bit. “Although I do have some information, it is not something that I can disclose.”

Rose was baffled. Normally, Ift would answer all her questions. What makes this one different?

“I can, however, say that what he is wanting you to find out can not be found in any book.”

They landed, Ift taking more care than usual as to not disturb the now sleeping hatchling. 

“If I can not find it in a book, then where?”

“I can not help you more than that, little human of flowers. Now, take care of not only yourself, but of the hatchling.”

Ift took off without allowing Rose to say another word. Rose looked down at the sleeping hatchling. The first thing she will have to do is to try to get her to eat. At first, anything would do, she just needs something on her stomach for the medicine that Rose is wanting to give her. 

Rose heard something moving near her. She immediately looked to the tree line. It was as still as it could be. She thought to use a spell to see if there was anything there, but she also needed something to eat. 

Maybe next time, she thought.
