Just a TOUCH of backstory here. Also, the song that Hunter's father was playing is Lady D'Arbanville by Cat Stevens. It's a beautiful, soft song with some sentimentality so we wanted to include it in the story - and who knows, maybe the words have some meaning that will be apparent later in the comic! Art direction here DEFINITELY has some Utena/Bee and Puppycat inspiration. Lee did an awesome jobs with the silhouettes.
And hey, the group found some food! That's a relief.
This is definitely a quieter portion of the story but moments in silence can amplify the action-packed scenes even further, and the best adventure stories have plenty of downtime to let the characters hang out. Some super exciting stuff is coming soon!
