Dear Miles,
I thought it was only right to make something for you. My condition seems to only get worse. The doctor says my ability to speak may be going soon. I know you need me, the man your father is not what I want you to be. I can hardly believe what he does. All my prayers go to making sure you do not become like him.

Dear Miles,
Did I ever tell you how I meet your grandmother?
She was in the grade below me at our high school down in Mexico. All the boys wanted her. She would walk around with that big camera, and take photos of everything. I thought she would never give me the time of day.
It was a Friday and she was walking around the tables. And sat right next to me. She said, and remember every word of what she said, “ I’ve seen you sit here every day with that book,” she pointed at the little notebook I had on me the one I gave to you last year,” But no one ever asks you what you write so tell me future poet. What hath your mind came up with today fellow scroller.” She was speaking in that word old-time-y voice she says to make you laugh. She stayed there the whole free hour just saying “Read me another one” Each time she would close her eyes a press her lips together showing she was thinking. By the time the bell rang we had read the whole book. “Well, Mr. Poet I guess this is where we part.” She stood and brushed down her skirt. “I’m Angeltia by the way, And you are?” I couldn’t find the words to tell her. The way she sat there and just listened was more than I could have prayed for. The word squeaked out of me “Juan” “Alright Juan, I hope you have more to tell me tomorrow.” She giggled. I thought I was going to explode. But I said” Why don’t you show me some of your photos? I see you take them all the time” “Okay how about this” She said putting her hands on the table, “ One day you read me your poetry the next I show you my photos deal?” She said tilting her head and holding her hand out to me. “Deal”
We did that every day for a month before we ended up together. I knew that day that I would marry that woman.
