After that night, things had changed. The past few days Erien had done a few more shows at Gedeon’s. Make-up was needed to cover the bruises that had proudly made themselves known to the world. Erien gave Lunar so much shit for it, pretending to be angry only to toppled over sometimes and laughing fits to break out. Lunar knew Erien loved it.
But Lunar had been alone for the past week. Erien was off out of the country to see family and later today Erien was coming back. He was wondering what to do. He had the spare key that Erien gave him to his apartment. Maybe that’s pushing it. Or maybe he should leave Erien alone once he gets home. He’d probably want to rest after tripping. It takes about 8 hours plus a bit to get there and back. Erien made sure to let Lunar that so if he slipped by accident on not telling him he was safe, Lunar could pester him.
Lunar checked the clock above the T.V. 10 minutes left. Lunar grabbed his jacket and keys as he headed towards the front door. When he opened it, his phone started to ring. He answered it.
“Hello?”
“Hey! I’m in the city now, give me like five minutes, meet me at your door.” Erien’s voice was in a pant. He sounded like he was running. Lunar sighed smiling, light-hearted that Erien had gotten in early then estimated. Lunar locked his apartment door and flew down the stairs. Screw the elevator, this needed fast action.
Outside Lunar came flying out the doors. Erien was standing at the end of the carpet outside the apartment complex with a smile. Both collided together, Lunar nearly covering the smaller male with his entire form.
“Did you get shorter?” Wham! Erien punched Lunar in the side for that horrible tease. A pained laugh escaped out of the Byzantium male startling a few passer byers.
“I’ve missed you. I hope you weren’t too lonely without me,” Erien latched onto his man’s arm, fingers intertwined.
“The club was lonely. I’m used to seeing you come through the door or be at the bar already when I come down. I’m just happy you’re back now.”
Both of them walked on, destination unsure for the moment but it would be figured out at some point after a given catch up from the week.

Erien laid in his bed, exhausted from today. He had no idea why he bothered to go for a walk after straight coming from the airport, home and then to Lunar’s. But it was nice. He was the only one he wanted to see at first after getting home and that plane worked out amazingly. Now, Erien could rest and just… Out like a light the moment he closed his eyes. His body became weightless and numb. The world around him was silent and sleep was kind to him once more. Nothing was more perfect than this. Until a light push and something, firm stirred him from his sleep just enough.
“What the…,” Erien barely opened his eyes to see a chest under him. The hold was familiar to him and he closed his eyes again not bothering to question it right now. Comfort was here, even more so and sleep was calling again.
Sometime during the night, Erien had woken up. He somehow felt refreshed though, like he had the best night sleep ever given to humankind. He looked at his bed, a body was lying face down next to him. Lunar was fast asleep, his hair somehow neat. That pissed Erien off. How the fuck does his hair stay so nice during sleep? But a smile formed and Erien kissed his back softly. He missed waking up to see him. Part of him wanted to be in the same bed with Lunar. Or just even the same place. But the other part…
Erien sighed and stood up sneaking his way out of the window in his room and up to the floor above him. He tapped on the window and it instantly flew open. Black curtains broke open to reveal Lucas sitting on his bed. He’d been waiting for Erien.
“Hello hello,” his voice gave out a low hum. Erien nodded and slipped into the room sitting on the windowsill. Erien chuckled,” Were you waiting long?”
“Not really. This has become a tradition remember?” Lucas was right. There was never a time that after a long trip neither of them wouldn’t come to either’s bedroom windows to sit at night and talk. It helped wind them down and make reality a little more real.
“So, how’s the little brother doing?”
“Duncan is doing alright. Things are slowly getting back into the swing of things between us. Nothing too crazy.”
Erien and Lucas chatted away. Neither of them expected any less. Out of anyone, Lucas knew more about Erien than even Erien’s closest friends. That’s just how it was.
“Hows’ your relationship with Lunar?” Lucas was crossing his legs, his elbows resting on his knees. Erien was swaying back and forth now, his fingers fiddling with his shirt. A lot was loaded in that question. And a lot wasn’t. Erien could answer with a simple phrase or go so deep not even he could track its ending. That’s where he was at now.
“Fearful.” That was it.
One word was spoken. Fearful was one word that was left for the imagination. But Lucas knew better than that. Fearful meant that Erien was happy but he was worried that something would happen. Something always did. Minor to major.
“Don’t get over the head about it. You are too worried. You were freaking about leaving for the trip back home because you’d end up being away from Lunar for so long. Yet all I heard from Deimos is that you texted that man on a daily. If there was a problem, don’t you think it be addressed by now?”
Right. That is true. Erien knew that. He knew that his friend was right about that. He was just worried it was one of those that it would surface at the worst time. But that was just Erien. The worst was over. It has been so long now.
The sun was starting to rise up and below Erien could Lunar hasty rummaging. Lunar was up he guessed and was freaking about how he probably couldn’t find him.
Erien stood up and gave Lucas a tight hug before stepping out the window and stepping down the weathered away melt stairs to his window. Lunar was in the middle was the room, hands on his head pacing around. Erien couldn’t help but laugh to himself. He sneaked into the room and propped himself on the foot of the bed. Erien kicked his foot up and planted it against his boyfriend’s behind. Lunar twisted around fast, the fear drained from his face as he tackled Erien flat to the bed. He laughed as he clung to Lunar and sighed,” Where’s the fire babe?”
“Sorry, when I woke up you were just gone. I thought that it was a dream that you came home and I was really starting to believe that you were still back in Paris.”
Erien blushed, his heart beating incredibly from what he heard. Jesus he really was going to die at this point. The warmth was suffocating.
“Did you sleep at all?” Lunar turned his head to Erien. His soft gaze made Erien burn more. He was sure that the redness was visible by now.
“Sort of. I woke up after you decided to sneak into my apartment and get into bed with me. Thanks.”
Lunar tried to hide a smile with a pout. A chuckle left him as he held on to Erien and grabbed the end of the blanket and just rolled them up in it. Erien snuggled close to Lunar, eyed closed and his body becoming heavy in a matter of minutes.
“Sleep well.”
