Hey everyone, I'm back from my week off! This is the cover of Act One; The Chronicles of the Crisis has three main acts -- Act One is titled "Life After Death," Act Two is "All Things Must End," and Act Three is "From the Ashes." As you can probably tell by those titles, mortality, death, and rebirth are all extremely prevalent themes throughout the story's narrative. Act One focuses heavily on Pamu and Solaris' lives somewhere around 1300 BCE (not exactly that year, and for the sake of trying to fit their stories into actual Egyptian history, I keep the date nebulous on purpose), hence the title of "Life After Death." The hieroglyphs seen on this cover are an ancient Egyptian burial epithet that reads "live again after death," while the little blue flame at the bottom is indicative of a storm yet to come (I don't want to spoil to much, but we'll be speeding through a lot of history after Pamu and Solaris die, and we'll pause for a minute in a couple of different historical settings).
I know I promised you all a page and the very beginning of Chapter 1 today, but I picked this week of all weeks to juggle lots of different projects... I was up until 2:00 AM trying to finish the first page and tried powering through it, but I ultimately just ran out of energy by the time I'd finished the page's line art. So, unfortunately, you'll have to wait until Monday to see the page...
..Why Monday? Well, I do have some good news along with the bad. Aside from this little mishap, I think I actually have enough time this summer to upload two pages a week without stressing too badly! We'll see how this goes, but it'd be a nice thing to achieve. As of now, I spent my week off writing scripts and sketching pages; I currently have eight pages in the works right now, so -- if I stick to my schedule and get them done -- that should easily cover us for the next month! My current idea is to upload on either Mondays and Fridays or Tuesdays and Fridays.
The world as we know it is wonderful and strange... Add magic into the mix, and things become even stranger! Join two wayward souls from ancient Egypt as they become entangled in perils of all kinds in a world where magic is a very real thing. Friend and foe alike hold the power to destroy everything they hold dear -- even the very fabric of their souls!

The Chronicles of the Crisis is a story over a decade in the making. It is really only just the beginning of an extensive journey into a parallel universe that I have spent years upon years building and breathing life into. It is a love letter not just to ancient Egyptian mythology, but to all stories of cryptids, monsters, and other things that go bump in the night. While the main focus lies upon the two aforementioned Egyptians, there are countless other references to other ancient cultures and legends throughout the story. TCotC is a complex story that might not be for everyone, but it completely captures my love of ancient history and the supernatural.
