After finishing the page I noticed that the last four panels may be confusing to read. They're meant to be read from top to bottom, left side first. I wish I could say this is the only time this will happen but despite my best efforts, that's not the case haha sorry that you have to put up with this on future pages as well, I'm still v much learning the peculiarities about comics, like panels.
In other news: it's the first update day! Thanks so much for sticking around for this. Hope you enjoy, see you next Monday for a new page.
Edit: just noticed the text was hard to read. I made the font a little taller and thinner, hope this is better now.
I think the paneling works. In the left-hand panels of the last four, the characters' heads being on the same side kind of reinforces the border and draws your eye naturally from the top speech balloon to the bottom speech balloon. Readers also tend to read from top to bottom before they'll cross the top bar of a "T" between panels (like you have going from left to right here) - if that makes any sense. I was reading an article on comic paneling that discussed that a few weeks ago, but unfortunately I can't find the link to it at the moment. (sorry not to be of more help there)
Paneling can be tricky to learn, but you get the hang of it with practice. Good luck!
This is a story about Pan, a young druid on his quest for wisdom. His journey leads him and his blackbird friend Krah into the forests of the Old Land, inhabited by only a few humans and an abundance of strange, magical creatures.
As he searches for the original source of the wisdom that will help the people of his village out of a year of hardships, he stumbles upon fragments of a dark ancient legend that had been buried deep in the soil of the Old Land until now.
“Wanderlicht” is a light-hearted fantasy/adventure comic inspired by celtic art and european folklore.
Updates with 1 new page every Monday. Thanks for reading!
