It has been a few hours since we sat at the table together. He was sitting on a chair near the fireplace while I sat on a chair near some old bookshelves. Silence filled the room, except for the sound of his carving faintly piercing through the void of noise. I couldn't help but break the silence, asking him about what happened to the world.
"Tragedy…" he replied. "The world was beautiful, maybe it still is but I don't know. Maybe everything looks the same now, feels the same way. From what you see and what I saw, it seems like things are just the consequences of tragedy. Before all of this though, life was beautiful, adventurous, just better. The people were kind, helpful and everyone was just there for each other. There was a candy shop, one of the best in the land, ran by old man Mr. Millio and his wife. I would visit them all the time, however when all this began… they were some of the first to pass. Then it was my parents, then the guards. I watched them all die while I lived on in this suit. I miss them all, and when you found me; yes I knew you saw me, I was visiting their graves. I buried each and every one of them in the citadel.
You're probably interested in how everything got this way though. An ancient creature from myth named Qualuag broke out of its eternal prison and unleashed its power. Again was only a myth until that point so no one really knows what it is or what it wants. However, it was always said he had an army waiting for him to rise which turned out to be true. We just wished we knew more though. It was too late though…"
