Nara sat on the wooden chair, playing absentmindedly with a string that had unraveled from the sleeve of the ill-fitting dress Boka had given her. It seemed like she had been waiting for quite a while, and wondered when Gaijan would come to get her. She also wondered what this Mage Unda was like. Maybe he would be able to help her remember what had happened before she had woken up in Boka's house. She hoped that she would remember soon. It is disconcerting, not knowing who you are.
The wooden door swung open, and Nara jumped up from her chair, hiding her hands behind her back. Gaijan stood in the open doorway, and beckoned her inside. She took a deep breath, then walked purposefully through the doorway and past Gaijan.
It was a large room, though sparsely furnished, just a large wooden desk and a chair behind it. Sitting in that chair was the oldest man Nara had ever seen. He was small, heavily wrinkled, clothed in a deep purple robe and, well... old. But she could somehow feel the power he possessed, and knew that he was a great magician, and deserved much respect.
"Come closer, child," the old man said in a surprisingly strong voice. Nara strode forward until she stood directly in front of the desk.
The old man's light blue eyes bore into her own, making her feel that he knew every last detail about her, that there was absolutely nothing she could hide from him, even if she wanted to. She didn't know how long she stood there looking back into his eyes, but at last he spoke once more.
"The power is contained. You can be assured of that. Protect the talisman, and your magic will never again control you." With that he waved a wrinkled hand, effectively dismissing her.
"Please, sir, I wondered-I can't remember anything from before, could you... could you help me? Remember, I mean?" He continued to stare at her. "Please?" He sighed.
"Your ordeal was very trying, it is not surprising that you cannot remember. Using magic would not be helpful. You must remember on your own." Nara nodded.
"Thank you." Again the old man waved his hand, and this time Nara turned around and walked back to the door. Gaijan had waited there the whole time, and opened the door wide for her and closed it firmly behind them.
