Hello! I have returned with some new updates on Her Anathema and future work. First I wanted to thank all my patient readers after a year long hiatus, I hope the changes to my comic are only pleasant for you!
The changes, throughout this last year I have struggled a lot with how I want Anathema to be visually. There have been some worldbuilding changes, some characters have new looks. The biggest change will be a jump to a grayscale style. Deciding to go grayscale was extremely tough, my comfort zone is colored comics, but colored pages take me twice as long to make. Grayscale also fits the story’s tone better, I’m hoping to embrace a much darker theme plot wise and visually this way. Lastly, Her Anathema is a comic I hope to print someday and I find grayscale is a better investment in the long run. It costs less to print and converting colors for print isn’t a concept I have a full grasp on yet.
I ask for patience with future updates, grayscale comics are completely new to me and I have been too embarrassed these last few months to show what I have been working on. I realized though that the more pages I make the faster I will get to finding a style for this comic that I am comfortable with. Criticism is welcome, I want Her Anathema to get better each update!
For now I will also leave up the old chapter too, I appreciate all the support you have given me through that and giving me the drive to do better. Thank you again for reading!
Inspired by her childhood heroine, Khepri wanted nothing more than to be a well-respected dragon slayer. However, when promises fall flat and she’s pressured to turn on her own teacher, there’s no longer anything holding Khepri back from giving into many of her darkest desires.
