She walked up to Avalen and punched him in the face, “HOW DARE YOU. YOU DO THIS EVERY FUCKING MEETING. WHY CAN’T YOU JUST STOP BEING AN JACKASS?”
Avalen looked at Lil like he was about to kill her, “DON’T ACT LIKE YOU KNOW WHATS GOING ON BETWEEN CHERRY AND ME! I KNOW YOU THINK YOU KNOW EVERYTHING PRINCESS BUT YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT THIS!”
“REALLY ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT? “ Lil paused for a moment and looked over and Cherry and me, “I know you’re an alpha and I know Cherry’s an omega. I also know that omegas really don’t get powerful enough to be in the top until they are in a bond. And I meet Cherry while he was in his first year here, he was weak and he had trouble summoning and performing spells. The only thing that could change him would be a bond. And for being his ‘fated pair’ you really are an asshole to him. Do you even know why Cherry took such a liking to me? Why he will help me whenever I need something or someone?” Avalen was just staring at Lil, he looked over at Cherry and shook his head no, “Why he calls me instead of you when he’s out and his heat starts?”he shook his head no again, “You really don’t pay attention do you… But while we are arguing Cherry is very upset and is being comforted by someone else right now.”
Everyone went quiet. No one said a word, they all just stared at Lil, Cherry was still bawling in my arms. The only person I saw move was the guy standing in he wall opening, he had turned around, he was still covered in shadows so I couldn’t make out his face.
“You’re an alpha so you don’t know what’s going on.” Avalen said, he still looked quite pissed.
“Yeah, that’s what you’re held up on? Your boyfriend is being comforted by my beta, man up and help Cherry out asshole.” Lil rubbed the back of her head as she spoke.
Avalen nodded his head and started walking over to Cherry and me. Once he got to us, he picked Cherry up and carried him over to a corner to talk. I stood up after they walked away and walked over to Lil, “So does that happen often?”
“Yeah, but Cherry’s in heat right now so he’s just a little bit more sensitive then usual, so Avalen’s words get to him.” Lil looked a little concerned, almost worried.
“Okay, where’s Lib anyways? I thought he was going to be here.” I asked, really where was he.
“Oh, well he’s always an hour late so we plan the meeting an hour early so he actually gets here on time. This also gives us time to deal with Avalen, and any other small issues we have going on.” Lil looked over at Avalen and Cherry.
“Question about Cherry, is Cherry actually his real name?”
“Heh, no Cherry’s just his nickname, his real name is Cornelius. But he doesn’t really like it, soooo don’t call him it. Just call him Cherry, he likes it and it suits him.” Lil looked around at everyone, “Why don’t you go talk to some of them. I got something to do.”
Lil walked off leaving me alone, she seamed to walk in the direction of the guy standing over in the wall opening. I must have seamed lost cause not long after Lil left me, someone else came up to me to talk.
“Don’t worry about them.” I turned around to see a guy standing there, he was about Lil’s height, he had short curly brown hair and blue eyes, “I’m Jake, I’m the guy in the corner’s beta. So I can assure you, there’s nothing to worry about.” He smiled as he spoke.
“Are you sure about that?” I looked over at him with a worried look, “I mean nothing against you or him… but he looks kinda shady."
“That’s right, this is your first ever meeting. Listen the guy over there and all the guys in here, wouldn’t hurt Lil no matter what. You know that Avalen nicknamed Lil princess, right?” I nodded, “Well, the guy over there was nicknamed prince last year when he started school. And you know Libryinth, he is called ‘chief’ cause he’s not as strong as royalty but stronger then most. The ‘prince’ and ‘princess’ are both overly strong, so he jokes around about it. He tried to get us to call him ‘king’ cause he was number 1 for a while, but no one gave in to him.”
“Okay, so Avalen nicknames the alphas due to their strength and rankings, and betas are all what puppies or something?”
“Heh, you catch on fast. He acts like if you aren’t strong enough to beat the alpha you are no better then a defenseless puppy.” The opening behind us flew open and Lib jumped up into the room. “Ah, so I guess we are all here. Everyone gather around the meetings starting.”
“Hey! But I just got here, I want to mingle too.” Lib called out to us.
“Well if you had gotten here on time then you would’ve been able to. Now close the hatch and get seated. Or we will start with out you, chief.” Jake explained as he took a seat at the table.
As Jake was sitting down, everyone soon followed after him. The alphas tended to sit next to their beta, and so on. Jake sat next to an empty chair, which I’m guessing is the ‘prince’s’, and Lil sat down two chairs down from that. She motioned for me to sit beside her, so I quickly walked over to her and sat down. Cherry sat down next to Lil and Avalen next to Cherry. Lib and his beta sat down on the other side of Jake, and the chair between Jake and I remained empty.
The meeting started with the reading of the last meetings minutes, then each pack alpha shared any new information about what was going on within the packs they were in charge of. It was kinda slow and boring. But everyone seamed to just be going through the motions. Next they went over their plans and set goals for the semester. They went over designated breaks and basic issues with the student body. It was getting close to 1:30 when they finally stopped for a lunch break. A couple guys ran down the spiral staircase and came up a few minutes later with drinks, sandwiches, and sides for everyone. After we all finished eating, we said back down at the table and proceeded with the meeting. But this time there was a lot more tension.
Cherry started leading the meeting, “So everyone, we have pushed this of because we couldn’t decide, but we have run out of time. We must decide today. Let’s refresh what we are trying to plan. The end of semester school festival is in 3 weeks, on the weekend after finals and before we leave campus for winter break. We are in charge of one booth, it can be any booth we want as long as it is school appropriate. Does anyone have any idea?”
Lib’s beta stood up, “I still think doing a kissing booth would be the best thing we could do. We will have a lot of customers and we we just need omegas to work it.”
At that Lil and Cherry both face planted while the guys talked about a kissing booth. Lil leaned over and whispered to me, “This is why we haven’t been able to decide on anything.” She leaned back up right.
Lib stood up and said, “No kissing booth that’s to cheesy, we should do a fighting tournament. They could go up against us. And depending on how far you got depends on what prize you get.”
More boys joined in on that one, then both ideas we being called out and argued over. Avalen, Jake, and Cherry started trying to calm everyone down and get them to understand that we need a real idea that could work. It seamed to go on forever.
“No kissing booth… No fight tournament… what are you all thinking? The kissing booth idea is just plain wrong, its discrimating omegas and expically if they are bonded. The tournament idea could work, but there are to many powerhouses in our arsenal, no one would stand a chance. We should continue with tradition and do a food booth like the student body always has.” The ‘prince’ spoke in a deep calm voice, which everyone listened to eagerly.
“Sounds good, lets plan on the type of food and our set up.” Avalen said, after that everyone started throwing out ideas. We decided on doing a split food booth, one side serving barbecue and the other serving desserts. They pulled out a detailed map of the school and laid it on the table. They then pulled out cutouts of each of the booths that were coming to the festival. Avalen and Lil started placing them on the map, deciding where each one should be placed.
While they were placing the cutouts, Cherry had asked what the booth should look like and what we were going to do for a sign. Lil grabbed a pencil and a notebook out of her bag and started sketching. She came up with a basic but catchy design using the booth they had from last year apparently.
After they finished the plans we all headed back to our dorms. On our way back Lil seamed actually happy about it, but at the same time she was completely exhausted. I’m starting to get really worried about her.
