Walking out of the hall I feel as if I'm floating in the clouds. Then I'm anchored down when I feel a hand grip around my other arm. When I jolt backwards a little Noah pulls me to him and says, "Not tonight Atlas."
The two of us begin walking again until he says, "But I need to apologise. No matter my reasons for what I did I shouldn't have done it."
"Well now that you've said it we can now go."
Noah went to leave but stopped when I pulled him back and then turned to Atlas, "Why would you do it? No matter how much I think about it I can't think of a reason. What did I do to you?"
"Raven, you didn't do anything. Atlas is just a jerk."
Atlas winces at Noah's word but makes no attempt to disagree. Appears that he really does feel some guilt, "Camila helped Allura and I when we were alone on our first day. We could see her looking over to your table at lunch almost constantly. When we asked what was up she told us of your fight. When we heard, even though it was clear you were innocent, I got angry. How could someone just throw away a friend like Camila. Now I know it was stupid, its also not an excuse but that's how it started."
Noah looked like he was about to punch Atlas. While I wouldn't mind doing the same I already had so I decided not to do so again. Instead I just decided to say, "Thank you for telling me and I forgive you. We can talk more another time but for now Noah is apparently dragging me somewhere."
"Of course, thank you for accepting my apology. I have you two have fun."
"We will," As we began to walk away from each other I decided to say one more thing, "Atlas?"
"Yeah?"
"While I don't believe you're lying to me I wonder if that was the only reason... Anyways I hope you have a good night as well."
Then I was the one to pull Noah outside. He turned to me, "Why did you say that?"
"While I get it I don't believe it's a big enough reason to pick on someone. Whether he figures it out or not is up to him... Whether there is anything to figure out of course."
Noah put he arm around me as we began to walk under the stars, "You are something else Raven."

As we drive along the road I turn to Noah, "Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise."
He grins when I give him an unimpressed look but I can't stop the small smile on my face when he puts his hand in mine.
The car stops along a narrow road.
"Let's go." Noah says as he comes over to my side of the car, "You know we made some great friends this year."
I smile, "Yeah we did, I don't think I would've survived this year if it hadn't of been for them."
"And I wouldn't have been able to pull this off either."
I look at him suspiciously, "Pull what off?"
He stops in front of me, "Do you trust me?"
"Of course." I answer with no hesitation.
"Good. I'm gonna put this around your eyes so you can't see, I'll not let go of your hand though."
As he puts the cloth around my eyes I say, "If you let me fall I'm breaking up with you."
"We better be careful then." He laughs loudly.
As we walk his hand never leaves mine until suddenly he stops walking and lets go, "Noah?"
He rubs his hands on my shoulders soothingly, "Don't worry, I'm just going to take the blindfold off."
As he does it takes my eyes a few seconds to adjust but when they do I'm frozen in shock. It's the lake area but this time its even more magical than the last time. In the middle there's a table set up with a picnic basket on top. Fairy lights dangle on the trees as a quiet song plays from a set of speakers in the corner.
I quickly turn and face Noah, "How did you pull this off?"
"Remember how Elias was wanting to get you ready? I asked him and Ryan to keep you distracted so the rest of us would have time to do it."
I feel the tears gathering around my eyes as I leap into Noah's arms. He catches me and laughs, "At least we didn't topple over like last time."
Our laughs fill the magical area as we make our way over to the picnic basket. He goes to one side and pulls out a chair and winks. I chuckle as I sit in the chair. He goes around to his chair and I ask, "What's in the basket?"
"Why don't you take a look?"
As I open the basket a grin makes its way over my face, "Pringles and Fanta?"
"I figured you'd rather have this to a fancy meal."
I wink at him, "Looks like you know me quite well."
"Well enough to know that you're gonna love this next surprise."
"Noah Bowman!"
He kisses my forehead lightly as he walks back towards the way we came, "Don't worry, this is the last thing I promise."
As he walks over he begins digging at a tree branch. Before I get the chance to make fun of him he pulls out a rope. It was cleverly hidden between the branches and leaves. He then ushers me over and tells me to hold it. As I do so he goes to another branch a couple of meters away and reaches for another rope.
"You ready?" He asks.
"For what?"
"Let the rope go in three... two... one... Now."
As we let down the rope a large white sheet drops down and I suddenly realise what's happening, "Outdoor cinema?"
He grins, "Yup, horror movie marathon."
"Surprised you didn't say romance movies."
"I was told to avoid those like the plague."
As he walks over to the table he pulls up Netflix on his computer, I go over and bring up the romance movies, "...I think this can be the one exception."
He smiles and kisses me on the lips before giving me some Pringles and Fanta, "You'll love this one."
Later we pack up everything, stealing comforting touches and kisses while doing so until Noah suddenly lies on the ground.
I lie down more gently than he did and ask, "What's up?"
"The sky." We both laugh before he continues, "We had our own lights all night so we never noticed... This is all kinda cliché isn't it?"
I smile thinking back over the last year or so and reply, "I think we all need a little bit of cliché in our lives, don't you agree?"
"Yes I do. After all we've had a pretty cliché year."
This is the last chapter of “A cliché year” (apologies that it was so short, I didn't even realise until posting) and I just wanted to say thank you to all of those who have read it. It is actually the first book that I’ve finished so it’s very special to me. I have absolutely loved the whole process and hope to post another book in the future :)
I can't stand romance movies. Too many clichés. Like really, why do people like them? It's not as if they ever change. After all, the guy always gets the girl no matter who's hurt in the process. Normally I make it my mission to either stay away from romantic movie lovers or covert them. Until I met my best friend that is.
