"The answer is still no, Archer." Archer angry pouted with those words. He looked as if he dropped an ice cream.
"You just took over the worst disciplined class of young knights in history, and you expect to mentor this boy? Not to mention your training, and keeping your relationship healthy. Do you really think I'll let you do that!?"
"...Yes?" He questioned hopefully.
"ARCHER!" The sudden raise of volume scared me out of my mind, I instinctively ran to hide behind Archer's back.
"Ruth please," he started saying as he dragged me to his front and held me to his chest. "I'll take whatever punishment you have waiting for me if this fails, but please give him a chance." There was another long silence.
"...Fine." Wow... I wasn't exactly expecting her to give in so easily. "Just know that if you fail to make a good knight out of him, you'll have double training time, even on weekends, this is your only warning."
"Thank you!" Archer was ecstatic, but the general just sighed and rubbed her forehead. Did they really believe I could do this? I didn't even believe in myself, so I doubt it. She must just be doing this out of pity... Or to prove a point?
"Whatever Archer, I don't really care. Get out and head to training or they'll make you do a double session." She said as she pushed us out the door.
Archer is going to train? And I get to see it!? This day was turning out unexpectedly good!
----------
I was watching from a place off the side of the training field were Archer told me to sit. The training session hadn't started yet, so the responsible men and women stretched while the others were playing around and teasing each other.
Archer was standing up and touching his toes, when a weird human medicine ball thing came flying at him. He snapped his body upright, and he manoeuvred his body so he could kick the ball straight back in the direction it came from. It flew right into the man who threw it's face, the force of the blow pushing him back several metres.
Archer straightened out his uniform and went back to stretching, while the other man stumbled to his feet. I heard giggling and whispering coming from boy and girls next to me. My ears tuned into the conversation, a natural instinct I had developed in case some people were discussing a dangerous plan.
"Oh my goodness! Archer is so cool!" One of the girls said
"Ah, I wonder if he's taken?" I heard a boy ask dreamily.
Robin was raised as a peasant in the magical Opal Kingdom. He has jet-black hair like most of the peasant, but his eyes are pale and he lacks the ability to talk, this has resulted in him not having any friends (with Archer as an exception). He developed the powerful gift to detect the difference from each voice he hears. This has lead him to overhear terrible and frightening plans .
Archer was raised to be a skilled knight for the Opal Kingdom. He is tall with a solid build and dark brown hair. Archer was born with the ability to read peoples minds -a very useful power for a knight-. He developed a strong relationship with Robin after he realised Robin could communicate with him telepathically..
The people of Opal were forced to flee suddenly, after a human invasion on the kingdom. The king was slaughtered and many were taken hostage to be used for their power. Those who fled are hidden amongst the humans.
Robin has promised himself that he'll protect his people, and eventually (with the help of Archer) restore the kingdom to it's former glory.

I hope someone (even just 1 person) will decide to read it, lol.
I'll react to any feedback I get with an open mind, so please tell me what you think.
