A quiet page this week. There will be quite a few of these here and there throughout the story, while writing and drawing it I noticed that I very much like to do parts of my storytelling without words. Hope you enjoy this page nonetheless and it looks like next week we’ll be arriving in Pan’s hometown!
Edit: As it was pointed out in the comments already, the left stone shows the face of what most likely was a celtic chief, a statue from 500 BC, found in Glauberg, Germany.
I'm always happy whenever I can include historical artefacts or information directly in the story, but since I do also have the folklore influence from a couple hundred years later, I'll have to make adjustments in most cases. Also it's still a fantasy story after all and not meant to be historically correct, although I do enjoy including things I found fascinating while I was doing research.
This is a story about Pan, a young druid on his quest for wisdom. His journey leads him and his blackbird friend Krah into the forests of the Old Land, inhabited by only a few humans and an abundance of strange, magical creatures.
As he searches for the original source of the wisdom that will help the people of his village out of a year of hardships, he stumbles upon fragments of a dark ancient legend that had been buried deep in the soil of the Old Land until now.
“Wanderlicht” is a light-hearted fantasy/adventure comic inspired by celtic art and european folklore.
Updates with 1 new page every Monday. Thanks for reading!
