May 6th, 2048. "Mommy!" "Daddy!!" Screamed Eiji with a certain cry to his voice. Loud footsteps were heard stomping their way up the stairwell. From the small nursery at the end of the hall, all that could be heard was our parents asking Eiji multiple questions about what was happening. "What's happening." "Eiji, please talk to us." "Where's Alisa." "Who's with Haru." They asked Eiji and they would not stop and give Eiji a chance to answer. When the questions stopped, They began to hear the horrific coughing that was coming from inside the small nursery. Our Mom, Dad, and Eiji all rushed to the small nursery to see a scared Alisa holding the coughing baby. The coughs began to get worse and worse as they continued to enter the small room. Haru began to struggle with his breathing and eventually it became a issue trying to breathe. Haru at the time was only 3 years of age, meaning that his lungs were much weaker than they needed to be to support the heavy coughing. Our mother rushes over to Alisa and grabs baby Haru from Alisa's grasp. "Get the car started!" cried our mother. The family no longer cared about the cops on the highway or how fast they were going. All they truly cared about was their baby boy and brother's health and safety. The family swiftly arrived at the hospital as quick as they possibly could and immediately the doctors came running up to them and took Haru to a room quickly. 5 minutes later... silence is heard in the waiting room as the family sits impatiently waiting. 10 minutes later... They had all realized how much slower the time felt as they waited for the baby and the doctor to return. 16 minutes later... they hear the sound of quickly-paced footsteps coming from the hallway in front of them. "I am so sorry to keep you waiting long!!" stated the doctor who had first taken Haru back to a room for an inspection. "You may follow me back to the room now." said the doctor. As the family made their way through the ominous hallway, they immediately felt layers upon layers of dread and grief spread around them. When they finally made it to the room Haru had been assigned to, they heard small coughs sprout through the cracked door. The doctor opened the wooden door just for the family to see the small three-year-old lying in the hospital bed hooked to way too many IVs for the family to be comfortable. The small child had a breathing mask over his mouth as he struggled to take a breath between the heavy and insufferable coughs that escaped his mouth. “Why is my son hooked up to all of these IVs and a breathing machine?” asked our mom with a crying plea. “I am so sorry to say this, but your son has a type of cancer which we doctors simply call Terminal Lung Cancer.” stated the doctor. Sobs of the family began when they comprehended what the doctor had said. “We can remove the cancer through Chemotherapy but we are not completely sure if it will cure him forever.” voiced the doctor. “You can do that on my son? Isn’t he too young?” asked our dad. “We aren’t typically supposed to use Chemo on a three-year-old but we want as many people to survive as possible.” stated the doctor. “When can you start the Chemo?” asked our mom. “We can start in the morning. Being that it is almost 10 P.M. We recommend that you go back to your home and one of you stay or we could let you all stay here and sleep here with Haru.” voiced the doctor. “We’ll all stay for the night to watch after Haru so you can go do what you have to do.” said our dad. The Chemo was given to Haru the very next morning. The Chemo continued for about 5 weeks when the Cancer had been cured completely of Haru’s lungs.
I hope that everyone is enjoying the story so far. Also, I am going to try to update the story as much as possible. With the school year for me coming to an end very soon, the teachers are beginning to cram in final exams and any other work. So, I may not be able to update as much as I would like to but I will try to keep a schedule intact for when I need to update. So, Thank you all for your support, let me know if you have any questions, and please leave any advice in the comments so it can help me to become a better Author.
