Valentine took his leave from Shaw's office. It was promised to be the only time that he was going to get a pass on not doing what he signed up to do. Shaw was not a man who gave many favors or chances to those around him, but he stated he would make this one exception for Valentine. 

Shaw had this look on his face as if he knew why this arrangement wasn't working but didn't bother to tell him, which put an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach as he headed back down. 

He ran his fingers through his hair, messing it up. He was over this clean-cut look of his. He shook his head, letting his hair settle back into its natural state. The shorts he would have to do something about later. The only time he really needed them was when he was working the floor. Otherwise, he didn't see why he couldn't wear something more aligned with his real personality. 

That personality quickly started to show as he moved down the back hall to Zac's room. He had tried things Shaw's way, and it didn't work. So now he was going to do them his way. 

He busted into the room. Not knocking before he entered or waiting for an answer. The sudden outburst jolted Zac up from his relaxed position on his sofa. A sharp pain shot through the front of his chest at the motion. The hit to his chest caused his sternum to fracture. He also had several bruised ribs. Busted lip. Black eye. He had been worked over pretty hard during the fight. 

Valentine huffed as he marched up to Zac, " The fuck is your problem. . . . actually don't answer that. I already know what it is."

Zac floored that he didn't even get a chance to get anything out before Valentine started up again. 

"You think since you've got his title now that that's it. There's nothing else needing to be done. And you're wrong there's a fuck ton of shit you could afford to improve on." 

Valentine had seen bits of the fight last night. He had also seen some of the videos people had taken of past fights of his too. So he got a good taste of the way he worked in the ring. 

Zac growled heavily as he stood up, forcing Valentine back in the process. He had no clue where any of this was coming from Zac curious as to where the set of balls came from on him, as he thought the audacity he had to come at him like this. 

The thought caused him to laugh. The poor omega must be out of his mind if he thought anything about this was okay. Omegas didn't come at alphas like this. They kept their mouths shut until asked otherwise. 

"Don't fucking laugh at me." Barked Valentine even though he was forced back into the wall. 

Zac had yet to stop walking, pressing his hand flat against the cement wall just along the side of Valentine's face. 

"You've lost your goddamn mind if you think you're walking out of this room on two legs after talking to me like that." Spoke Zac in a tone that sent a chill down Valentine's spine. 

"I'm not scared of you." Commented Valentine as he looked up at Zac meeting his gaze. 

"Not scared. The scent you put out says otherwise." Sniffed Zac, running his nose along the side of Valentine's cheek. 

Then he sniffed a little harder he wasn't soured at all. He was sweeter than ever. He was so used to omega's souring the moment he got close to them. Enforcing his dominance over them by the way he stood. Tower over, cornering them. Made it as if they had no way out. It had never failed before. He easily set an omega straight as to who he was to be to them. 

Valentine smiled. His first true smile since he's been here. "You're going to have to try harder than that to scare me." 

Unphased by his typical alpha ways as he went to move his arm away so he could push past him, Zac snapped back as soon as his finger touched him. He placed his hand over the front of his throat, pinning Valentine to the wall. He even went as far as pushing him up the wall. 

Valentine dangled just above the floor. The toes of his shoes slipped as he tried to make contact with the floor. His hands had since grabbed onto Zac's forearm as he tried to get him to let him go. The air to his lungs cut off completely as Zac held him. 

The once pissed-off but slightly amused look he had on his face was gone. As if a switch had been flicked over in his mind seeing nothing but anger in Zac's eyes. Pure dark hatred. Even though Zac was looking at him and actively trying to end his life, Valentine didn't feel that emotions were meant for him. 

The sudden lack of air and the appearance that he would never have any again finally got Valentine to break. His sour scent started to pulse out from him. Gasping for air as he clawed at Zac to stop. His legs thrashed below him. 

Zac smirked, leaned in real close to Valentine's ear. "That's what I fucking thought." And dropped him. 

Valentine fell to the floor with a hard thump. No strength in his legs to keep him standing as he coughed, trying to regain his breath, a quick scoff from Zac as he stepped back. 

Omega should fear all alphas as far as Zac was concerned. They were not equals. They would never be equals. Thinking that's something Valentine should be aware of already, but if not he had no issue showing him.
