As the plane landed Creed let out a deep sigh, He clearly was thinking about work again. I couldn't shake the sight feeling of excitement I believe, about having a cousin. I hadn't had any cousins growing up, so this was cool I supposed.  Creed lightly touched my face pulling me out of my head.

"Time to deal with this shit."

"Alright. There should be a car arranged for us."

"Stay on alert."

"Ditto."

Once we stepped off the plane we check out our surroundings. Nothing looked out of place. We walked inside the building and looked around slowly.  Creed and I were both on edge, We needed to get our bags and get the hell out of the crowded airport. I spotted a sign with both our names on it. The man holding it was an older male with a look of boredom on his face. Creed went to grab our bags well I went and checked in with the older gentleman.

"Hello."

"Mr. Alexi?"

"Yes."

"Creed?"

"He is just grabbing our bags."

"The Donna is in the car. We have vests and weapons in the car for you both, however, don't think they will fit Mr.Creed."

"Don't worry, he has one made to fit him."

"I'm glad to hear that."

Creed had both our bags when he got to us. He leaned down and whispered in my ear that cops were entering the back of the airport and they are looking at everyone leaving from that end.

"Well let's get out of here, Gentleman. Before we have some unwanted friends."

We barely got out of the airport and into the car in time. The cops came out of the other doors the moment the car pulled away from the curb. Creed and I both said hello and thanks to Siena before we both reached into our bags and checked our weapons and vests.  Siena was watching me the whole time I changed into someone easy to hide the vest under.

"My son and you, You guys look like you could be siblings. Your family D.N.A. must be so strong. "

It wasn't that strange to hear, after all my uncle and my father looked almost the same, I also looked alike to them both as well.  I wanted to tell her that was the curse of belonging to our family. However, I kept that to myself.  She flipped her phone around showing me the young man on the screen. He was a much younger version of my uncle, They looked so alike. You could clearly see who he belonged to without a D.N.A test.

"You are right, We do look alike."

"He looks like a younger you Alexi," Creed said laughing as he checked his weapon and made sure it was good to fire. He did the same with mine before I could. He also leaned down and scolded me about my shit gun. I rolled my eyes at him.

"What's your son's name?"

"Your cousin's name is Alessio, Though these days he goes by Sio."

"You stuck with the A's it seems too."

"I could only see his father when I looked at him. Made me realize how much I missed him, it felt wrong to give him anything less than a good strong name with an A after his father."

I heard Creed chuckle before he spoke to Siena about something in Italian lowly. It was clear he didn't want me to know what he was asking, but I caught the last few words Seina had said back to him. Something about "them having been well cared for, don't worry." Creed looked a lot calmer then. I hadn't meant to stare at him, but I was. We had met eyes and I saw a deep longing but also sadness in his eyes. It must have been over the loss of his family before. That was the only thing I could even think it to be about. My throat was dry so when I swallowed, it ached, but I dared not ask why his eyes looked so haunted.

As we pulled into the driveway of a beautiful home Siena sighed deeply.

"Welcome to my home. I'm sorry about all the shit you are going to get to witness, It's a mess here."

"Please, The Vincent house is always a mess, I don't think there is more than one day a month where we all get along without some kind of fighting. But your son will be safe there. " I said.

"I don't worry about him not being safe. Both, Maddox and Underboss Jackson, have children, plenty from what I hear, if they are there, then it is safe, Besides Alessio will be with his father and I know he wouldn't let anything happen to our child."

"You put a lot of trust in my uncle."

"I do. But that because I knew him. He was a good man."

"Don't worry, He helped raise me too, I turned out pretty ok."

"Pretty ok is better than dead in my books."

"Mine too."

When we stepped out of the car after it parked, Someone took our luggage for us and a taller male in a sharp suit snarled as he made his way over to Siena. They argued in Italian, before his eyes looked at me, I could have sworn the man's face went seven shades of deeper red.

"Are you stupid to bring him here? He will only make your husband angrier, That man can not be here!"

I blinked a few times before I understood what exactly or rather who this man thought I was. Creed must have had the same realization because he actually busted out fucking laughing.

"Alexi, He thinks you are your uncle."

The man paused his yelling looking at Siena who just looked amused.

"Caio, This is Alexi, Alessio's older cousin."

"They all look alike. I thought he was that man."

"No, I'm not. I'm not his father." I said sharply.

"Creed, Alexi, This is Caio, Alessio's caretaker."

"Bodyguard," Creed whispered deeply under his breath.

After we went inside and settled this conversation, Siena took us to see Alessio. He was in her personal wing which was locked to everyone. Out of fear of course for his safety. After we got inside she locked it up tightly and took a deep breath. You could tell how stressed out she was.

"Mother?"

"Yes Sio, It's me."

It was odd to hear them speak in perfect English almost instead of Italian here. Creed must have had the same thought because one of his eyebrows was raised. We didn't have to wait long to meet Alessio. He walked out of a room and stood about four feet away from us. His eyes never left my face. He just stared at me. I knew why, but it was still both annoying and amusing to me.

"Hello, I'm Alexi."

"You are the man I spoke to on the phone."

"Yes."

"We must be related? You look just like me!"

"We are first cousins, and you look like me, after all, I'm older," I said showing some pettiness at the comment.

Vincent Crime Family Book Three -

Alexi isn't good with feelings. So when someone he didn't view as even a friend until recently gets injured because of their feeling for him he pushes the feeling of anything like love away. He views the feelings as dangerous and worth avoiding. With the guilt, he feels he's unsure of how to act around Creed anymore.

Creed took a bullet for the man he loves. He would do it again if he had to. That's how much he cared for the damaged man, Alexi. With him getting injured it was like all the work he had done to get Alexi to open up was reversed. The sad part was Creed wasn't above forcing Alexi to see his feelings and be aware of his own.Read more
