Living life is a lot like walking in darkness: we stumble and trip over ourselves more often than not and most times we can only hope we’re heading in the right direction—or at least one that doesn’t lead to a pitfall of deeper darkness. There are times when out of nowhere, we’re surrounded by a sudden flood of light; but this light, while radiant, can also be too much for us. Even as we reach for it, that sudden shift to the light can be just as blinding as stumbling in the dark. And at times, more painful as well.
But…we can see our way in the dark rather nicely with just a little bit of light. A tiny bit of light to guide our way can be more precious than droves of light that blind us. It is the same in life as well—that moments of happiness are that much more precious because of moments of sadness.
