“It's not fair!” I said as tears welled in my eyes. “What am I gonna do?” I asked as tears started to fall from my eyes, trickling down my cheeks falling into my lap. Riku got up and sat next to me, putting his arm and sounding me pulling me into his chest. “I don't know, we’ll figure something out ok. I promise.” He said as he squeezed me a little tighter.
Riku’s P.O.V
God I missed this. I thought to myself as she threw me onto the pavement. I should have come back sooner. I would have if I knew she was finally going to pick. We fought for hours on end every day when we were kids, she single handedly overpowered me time and time again. She made me better, how could I not fall for her. She's an aggressive, confident, freak who still talks to animals in the garden like when we were 9, and she's everything I've ever wanted.
After we went inside we walked to her room. I haven't been in here in forever, she changed it. I took a peek behind the door when I walked in, Still keeping her 9mm in the same place, riched behind the door handle. I threw myself down in her desk chair and watched her aimlessly groan into her pillows. I just want to see you smile again, why cant you be mine?
“What if we just ran away?” she asked as if that was supposed to be an actual option. I laughed at the thought of living like commoners. We only know the life of wealth, we're all dirty rich.
“Not an option for us, and since when is there an ‘us’.” I asked with a smug look trying to hide my curiosity as the word ‘us’ echoed through me. “Have you forgiven me for my absence?” I asked, prying a bit. “Riku, I'm literally being forced into marriage. I have bigger things to worry about, and they do not include why you decided to take a 4 month hiatus from your responsibilities.” she said as she fell deeper into her thoughts. “I have an Idea, but you're gonna need to be open minded.” I said, going off on a whim, “I'm open to suggestions.” “Ok so what if when that party's over and it's time for you to announce who you've picked, you just picked me.” “WHAT!” she yelled at the thought of marrying me, I'm the only person who knows her in the way she wants to be known. I'm the boy who fights with her, we threw knives at each other for fun. Does she not see that that wasn't brotherly love? We grew up together. Thinking about her in a romantic way just made sense in the grand scheme of things. “Not like for real, but you pick me, we get married and we go our separate ways. It's just a piece of paper.” I said pulling the chair closer to her bed.
“I can't do that.” she said with a blank expression painted across her face.I just want to give her the life she deserves. Everything I know about her. “Why not it won't be romantic at all. We'll have to live together but we kinda already do that anyway, you don't even have to wear a ring.” “I was supposed to get married with my mothers wedding ring.” she said, almost sounding numb. It's not fair that her whole life is being taken from her, I want to give her any happiness I can.
“It's not fair!” she said as tears welled in her eyes. “What am I gonna do?” she asked as tears started to fall from her eyes, trickling down her cheeks falling into her lap. I got up and sat next to her putting my arm around her instinctively pulling her into my chest. “I don't know, we’ll figure something out ok. I promise.” I said as I squeezed her a little tighter. Don't cry, please don't cry I thought. Even your tears are precious.
