It had been 5 days since he left and I was beginning to worry. I called twice but he didn't answer. I left messages and texted, but still no answer. I tried not to worry considering the fact that sometimes these meetings do run longer than scheduled. I thought back to when he told me he was going and he didn't give me a specific number. That was unusual for him because he typically counted the days he would be gone so he could get back as soon as possible. I tried to read into it so much and decided to wait a few more days.
I waited until another week and he had been gone for 12 day. I still haven't heard from him so I took the liberty of calling a good friend of mine. “ Hello, Mr. Enoske. I was just calling to see if your meetings with the Chaowtoe group where over?” “Yes, they ended about a week ago. Why is something the matter.” “No, of course not. Riku still has yet to return home and I haven't been able to get a hold of him. I'm sure it's nothing, thank you.” “No problem, call if you need anything,” “Will do.” And with that I hung up. Fear washed over me as I debated every possible outcome. He couldn't have been kidnapped, that is unless he was overpowered that would have taken 4- no 5 men to get him down. Maybe his flight just got delayed, no it wouldn't have been that long. Where is he?
As my mind jumped from scenario to scenario I finally came to a stop. I remembered a little trick I learned when I was just being brought into the business. It was a briefing on how to find an enemy family's location. Simple stuff that could make or break an abduction or deal depending on why we were looking for them. I had my plan and I was ready to execute it. First I needed to get to the last place he was. I tied up all my things at the main estate and got on a flight to South East Asia. The melting pot of the chateau group was being held at the Yoon family estate. THats the first place I need to look.
I arrived in Asia and got settled in my town house. I then made my way to the Yoon family estate. Upon arrival I spoke to a few members of the cleaning staff who were around during the meeting and the head of the family security, all of which used to work for me so they had an obligation to tell me what I wanted to know. “When he left on the last day of the meeting, it wasn't in one of the family's cars. It was unfamiliar and the plate was blacked out.” “Thank you Eleanor.”
Eleanor was a good friend of mine back when I was new to the mob scene, I found her in the states and saved her from a couple thugs. She's a maid now. She liked the trees in Asia so I left her on the Yoon family estate. She comes and visits every so often and I see her when I'm around. “That definitely helps, remind me next time I see you to give you a raise.” I said as I got back into my car and started off to the next location. Using some of my connection with the local police I got the traffic cam footage sent to me. I could see the car he got in at the Young family's main estate all the way to the other side of the city. Then the car just disappeared. I decided to go into stealth mode just in case anyone was tailing me as well. I got a new car, wired it and made sure I was armed appropriately. I went down to where the car was last seen and poked around a little bit.
All I found when I got there were some homeless junkies and a few thugs. As I stood outside of a JUSCO I couldn't help but feel like I was missing something. There's no way he's not close. I have to be close. There's something here I'm just not seeing. I got back in my car after poking around a little more and headed back to my town house. That night I reviewed the traffic cam footage looking for any indication that could lead me to Riku. What could I be missing? The car went past the JUSCO, stopped at the light and disappeared.
And that's when I saw it. ON the camera that's at the light you can see a small piece of the door going into the JUSCO, it looked like there was a group of people going in just as the light changed. If there are people that got out of the car at the JUSCO and the car went through the light and turned into the alley getting out at the street behind the JUSCO then that means it didn't disappear and is detoured. I checked the cameras from the block behind the store to confirm suspicions. Lone behold there it was the car getting back onto the main road.
